it's suppose to be a speedway style bicycle.
Speedway "style" bicycle makes no sense. It has the flat plastic pedals, low gearing, brakelessness and knobbly tyres of an actual speedway bike. All stuff that would make it horrible to ride on the street.
So why the joke handlebars?

Oh so he can ride with the hippity hoppity brigade by looking all rad I suppose;

After reading the 'story' it made me wonder why I even bother riding. None of the local kids look at me and think, let alone say 'Thas gangsta innit'

You don't need to devote your whole life to trying to get laughs from people on here with your ill informed, intentionally moronic sounding posts Ed...your lack of knowledge on most subjects makes you look stupid enough already.

ed just got burned! "...moronic..." hahaha he really wants to be king of the cliq

It is not a speedway style bike, it is a tracker style bike.
They were big in the 70's where I live and I had one myself. You took a road style frame (I used a 24inch wheeled kids race bike), single speeded it, fitted a rear brake, knobbly cycle speedway type tyres, and for some reason huge cow horn bars and if you could do it get the forks straightened a bit.
You then used it for whizzing around roads and bombing through woods, doing sweet jumps and that sort of thing.
Then along came BMX's and then MTB's that were far better suited and the tracker was no more... -

but spending hundreds of pounds on a BMW and then making it horrible to ride with those stupid bars makes it anti.

There is this middle aged japanese guy in my neighborhood who rides around on a NOS looking raleigh bomber fitted with racks & loads of gadgets. He looks like a grown up version of that kid in the goonies.

Lucky that Ged is the UK importer for BMW really then eh!

Indeed, it was just a cash-in on something "the kids" were already doing on "the street". It was the Create of its day in that way.

If anybody is wondering, those bars were made for doing this:
And if Ged can drift that thing all the way round the corners of a half mile oval I'm happy to let him get on with it.

And if Ged can drift that thing all the way round the corners of a half mile oval I'm happy to let him get on with it.And if he can't you'll do what exactly? stop him 'getting on with it' with more of your boring, anally retentive whining about what other peoples bikes should and shouldn't look like in order to be considered porn?
Get over yourself...you're not the person who decides for other people what porn is, so it's not necessary for the constant critiquing and picking apart of other peoples bike porn choices.
It's not up to you to decide whether or not people are allowed to 'get on with it' and build bikes that THEY want to ride, or that bring back happy memories of their youth, or whatever the reason is.This forum is supposed to be 'censorship free', and yet you seem to have taken it upon yourself to 'moderate' practically every bike posted in bike porn and 'correct' people that have posted something that YOU don't consider to be porn.
If somebody has posted something there, then to them it's obviously porn. Whether or not you agree isn't relevant, and shouldn't warrant you picking their opinion to pieces. -

But tester is just playing the classic role of the critic. His bikes don't look great either but that doesn't matter, criticise others at all costs before looking at your own situation

Archie seriously don't get wound up about these things, you only end up fuelling the situation.

Well, one of them attracts positive comment, but the rest range from so-so to OMG WTF!
Is this a discussion forum, or just a gallery for people to post any old shit and have its failings ignored? If the aim is to have this thread be an exemplar of fine aesthetics, perhaps with a view to guiding the whole world to making all their bikes as nice as possible, then it is important to have criticism. It is implicit in this thread that simply posting a bike constitutes positive criticism, making it all but inevitable that any subsequent comment will be negative, since a simple +1 suffices to register complete agreement with the selection of the original curator.
The deprecation of readers' wives demonstrates that simply being "to them it's obviously porn" is not sufficient qualification to be universally accepted here, since we all think we are at least on the way to perfecting our own rides. Furthermore, since posting a bike here implies a statement of superiority, and since there is no agreement about the ne plus ultra even if such a thing exists, then every bike posted here must necessarily be inferior to some other bike, even if it is only the Platonic ideal bicycle, and the points of inferiority form as important a part of the discussion as the points of superiority.
That some people here object to my critiques not with rational counter-argument but with censorious whining shows a lack of wit on their part; if they had better ideas, they would place them before us and win over the crowd with their superior rhetoric. If they had a clue about their own witlessness, they would simply use the "ignore" facility to spare themselves the mental torment which my voicing an opinion seems to cause them.
In the final analysis, it's pictures of other people's bicycles and my occasional disparaging remarks about the aesthetics thereof; a very long way from something about which any sensible person should give more than a passing thought.

I'm not wound up, I'm having a fine day.
I'm fully aware that people are different, which is exactly why picking holes in peoples personal choices and trying to tell them how they should be to meet your own 'porn standards' is ridiculous.
I'm not the person that is telling people that their idea of what bike porn is is 'wrong'.As usual, people seem to confuse an opinion that disagrees with the majority as being a result of somebody who is worked up, angry, or out to fuel the fires of a 'situation'.

all the answer is in the BMW topic, it's suppose to be a speedway style bicycle.
