Am I the only person looking at the choices of components on that bike and thinking that it';s obviously built for cyclocross. Not porn, not anti. Just functional.
nope.

it does make sense if you're doing cyclocross, bear in mind you're riding a bicycle that's resemblance road bike than MTB, on rough muddy path with obstacle and the like.
having cross lever (the clue is in the name) on the flat part of the handlebar is much more idea for a quick reaction if something unexpected happen ahead of you for instance.
also, cyclotouriste/randonneur have cross lever on their handlebar as well as drop lever, it give them more option to rest their hand while cycling for a long period of time.
OTP cyclocross bicycle tend to have cross levers on them as standard;

I always find cyclocross bikes very pleasing on the eye. also had never seen the word 'cyclotouriste' written before a couple of days back, eds enhancing my vocab. cheers yeah.

how is that ^^ cx focus an anit-porn Ed? yellow chainstays and BB area?..

it's just here as an example of a bike with cross levers, not anti-porn.

Assume it's to show a better pic of the second brake levers. And Ed is bang on the money about them. Wouldn't ride cross without them.

Clearly cross but also clearly anti. Non matching tyres, non matching wheels, Ergo levers with s/s, and the colour, and the size doesn't help either.

I reitterate. That bike is pure function. -

And using "clearly" doesn't make your opinion any more valid.

Everything on the bike tick cyclocross, IMHO for it to be anti, it would need various component that's so ill suited for it, it would be more fitting to be used as a paperweight.
It's not porn, but far from anti.

Whereas I wouldn't ride with them. Just think of the extra weight :-)
I only ever hold the tops of the bars when going uphill seated and brakes are the last thing I need. Most of my riding is on drops, followed by hoods.

There's also a mech hanger on what looks to me like a custom or at least pretty high end frame so I doubt it's a conversion, more likely a multi purpose bike which is sometimes used with gears and a geared rear wheel and sometimes singlespeed.

Can anyone at least read what the downtube said? I can just about make out a twin crown fork.

still interesting choice on the different colour contis... (they are contis ?)
like the colour of the frame.
In terms of the ergo levers - maybe he wanted to try it out ss but didn't want to commit to it permanently?

and the bars are perfect for doing a quick decade

^^ IMO the yellow and black dodici, exemplifies anit, whereas the pink cyclocross is a perfect eg of something that isn't.
It's obv all about how you define things, but I can't see how a low budget build that looks a bit crap but works is ever anti.
Where as a bike with £££s spent, looks a bit gash and practically fails...
