Too bad it's owned by an idiot...

There's no freewheel on that bike.
Just a monster gear with no brakes or foot retention.Looks like 54/13 !
Somebody make a yo dawg with it already. "We put a handlebar in you handlebar, so you can ride while you ride"

Out of interest, what frame is that?
It's a Carlton, that is all I know

i'm the same i think it looks nice, i'd only change the bars to drop bars with a more standard stem as thats my prefrence,
whats wrong with the seatpost? is just a seatpost
That's what's wrong with it - on a bike with such nice bits and pieces i would like to see something posher than an OE taiwanese offering, thats all.

agree to disagree, i'm all for nice parts where needed, but a seatpost is just a stick to hold a seat where you need it, so long as its not heaver then norm then its ok in my eyes,
i've never ever looked at a biek and gone, ''whould be nice, except for that seatpost'' you might as well complaine that the seat post bolt is the wrong colour, its not important in my eyes

Your eyesight is obviously keener than mine. From the picture, it could be an entirely appropriate original French Laprade, or a perfectly acceptable Japanese SR or Strong licensed copy of a Laprade, or a modern generic Taiwanese copy. The design is appropriate, so you are quibbling the manufacturer's mark which we can't even see.

The only way this will be resolved is if you contact the owner - I must know the truth...
tbh tho I still don't THINK that it suits the bike. Key words there being I and think.
Just think it deserves something more elegant.

I don't get it. I'm all for people doing what they want with they're own shit but Shamals just look so good in shiney shiney silver, why would you do that?

Just to say, some o the bikes you brand as anti aren't that bad. And half the point of fixed/single speed is being able to do whatever the fuck you want. Personally, I like jacks bike. He probably does too. I bet it rides like a dream. So leave him alone!
