  • i've been advised against doing this ride brakeless but i only have 1 bike and it doesn't have brakes. are the descents very scary?

  • I'm definitley not riding my geoff butler then

  • minh ai i've been advised against doing this ride brakeless but i only have 1 bike and it doesn't have brakes. are the descents very scary?

Without brakes they could be.. how hard is it to fit a brake to your bike? Is it drilled?

  • no can do. moving house that day - though if you were to move it to the Sunday....

  • Skullhead I'm definitley not riding my geoff butler then

Don't worry, i'm not that bad. My geoffrey butler is fine. It won't be coming on this ride though, due to not having a brake. :)

  • Pissed that I missed out on the Monopoly fun but not the rain, just checking Date/Time for the Southend ride??

no. its a track frame. i've been down some fairly steep hills although they are generally quite short. it's the long hills that are difficult. Does anyone know how the descents comapre to, say, blackheath hill?

also does anyone know what distance is? more or less then brighton?

  • Report of the last ride..
    http://thehippy.net/nucleus/index.php?itemid=863

"Stats: 5hr total time, 3hr ride time, 75k (47mi) for Seven Dials to Southend, making my total for the day 105k fixed, in horrible conditions. Noice!"

  • Anybody know how many miles (or km) the Richmond park ride was? 35ish?

  • minh ai i've been advised against doing this ride brakeless but i only have 1 bike and it doesn't have brakes. are the descents very scary?

hey minh ai, general point is if youre going to do the brighton ride (5th April) you will probably need a brake, get a clamp on, so you only put it on for longer rides, theres nothing wrong with having a spare brake is there

  • the weather will be horrible this weekend, at least is what bbc says...
so if next weekend is horrible too we will have to set another day

everyone agree with 10:00 at brick lane polo court?

  • 10 sounds good, how many people are up for doing it in shit weather?
