When at work I usually just walk to Climpsons and get them to grind a bag for me for filter. Saves having to cart stuff back and forth. You could probably go to T&P'ed and do the same?

Not into the idea of a hand grinder? You can grind a cupsworth while the kettle boils.
Anyway, I'm sure however you do it you'll be pleased with it. What coffee do you drink at work currently?

I've got some hand grinders at home actually. I just kind of collected them.
No, I don't like to hang out in the kitchen here. I might have to talk to someone. Probably someone paying me to be elsewhere doing something more useful.
Work coffee is instant or cafe bought.

Please tell me you are dressing like this:
Haha...such hipster, many cool.
Aeropress champs at glasgow's hipster fave the old hairdresser's. Love it.
In other hipster news...
Currently drinking: Nude Cold Brew
Tasting notes: It's like coffee, but cold. Word.
Saw that on some naff buzzfeed style list of "hipster favourites" yesterday.
In other news have recently been enjoying a morning Bialetti with beans from Glasgow's local favourite 'dear green' coffee roasters.

Buy a kettle and a bottle of water and do it at your desk.
And then make a coffee...

Hmm yeah this is not gonna happen. I'll stick with cafe stuff. At least it gets me outside briefly.

Desk aeropress so you don't have to talk to the people in the kitchen? Living the fucking dream!

I bought from this guy.
He put 'Coffee Mill' and a value of 3600 yen (£20)
I might have been lucky with the import charges.
nice one - thanks. you used the porlex yet?
Not yet.
Tonight is the night though.
Never ground coffee either so we'll see how things go
It took me 3 goes to get the right settings for the coffee not to be too coarse or too fine.
That Porlex is much slower than I anticipated, it takes about 8 minutes to grind approximately 30gr of coffee. That's around 500 rotations worth!

Anyone wants a 227g bag of Grind Caveman house espresso blend? It has been bought from Putney Grind last week.
I initially bought it ground for an espresso machine but it was far too fine for my Gaggia and blocked it.
I went back to say it was too fine so the manager kindly ground me another bag, which is this time, too coarse.I don't want to go back in there a third time so you can have this for free if you pick up from Brixton or Putney.
It's £7.50 worth of Hipster coffee, filter or drip ground.

bought it ground
Hipster coffee
does not compute.

Vince I'll take that if you don't mind? In Brixton too

Yeah I really wouldn't want to be grinding more than 20g for espresso... It's much easier for filter, 15g takes a minute. Can't imagine dialling in a new espresso with a Porlex!!
Ditched the Porlex for this anyway

I didn't have my Porlex yet and need coffee so I bought the hipster coffee in ground format.
Brawen, I will PM you with my address.
I will see how quickly I get bored of the Porlex before investing in an electric machine...

Yeah that's what all hipsters say.
+1 for cold coffee though.

wow 8 minutes grinding is a long time for one cup so maybe i'll hold off my purchase for now. that said if you decide to get rid of the porlex vince give me a shout and I might reconsider!
-
• #9645
Don't get it - it takes less than a minute with my Zassenhaus turkish to make enough for a moka cup.

No, hipsters say "have you heard the latest xxx album. I've got it on limited red see-through vinyl. It matches my plastic fauxglasses and this retro plastic Timex I paid 800USD for, specially imported from Cunce R Us" all while adjusting their waxed beards or pulling their trousers up a bit to show their faux prison tatts.

Thanks, gonna check out the xxx. They sound awesome.

Its generational, and nobody thinks they are one, everyone differentiates themselves from the ones that came before.
I'm sure those older, glasses-wearing, bearded, once-were-hips would say "No, hipsters say 'have you seen my black hair dye for my Romulan hair cut? I am off to do some heroin and listen to Heroin
at a show in my friend's living room'"and so on and so forth all the way back to hep cats and beatnik jazz.
At any rate "I'm not a hipster" is an impossible argument to win for anyone ever. You are a hipster skeptic. James Randi Lecture @ Caltech - Cant Prove a Negative - YouTube

8mins of hand grinding? You're doing it wrong son.
Got a electric grinder at work finally!

That's an awesome flyer!
..indeed!
: D
Work so I could get good beans, no idea about the water and there is no grinder.
