In other news have recently been enjoying a morning Bialetti with beans from Glasgow's local favourite 'dear green' coffee roasters.

No, I don't like to hang out in the kitchen here. I might have to talk to someone. Probably someone paying me to be elsewhere doing something more useful.
Work coffee is instant or cafe bought.
Buy a kettle and a bottle of water and do it at your desk.
And then make a coffee...

Never ground coffee either so we'll see how things go
It took me 3 goes to get the right settings for the coffee not to be too coarse or too fine.
That Porlex is much slower than I anticipated, it takes about 8 minutes to grind approximately 30gr of coffee. That's around 500 rotations worth!

Anyone wants a 227g bag of Grind Caveman house espresso blend? It has been bought from Putney Grind last week.
I initially bought it ground for an espresso machine but it was far too fine for my Gaggia and blocked it.
I went back to say it was too fine so the manager kindly ground me another bag, which is this time, too coarse.I don't want to go back in there a third time so you can have this for free if you pick up from Brixton or Putney.
It's £7.50 worth of Hipster coffee, filter or drip ground.

Yeah I really wouldn't want to be grinding more than 20g for espresso... It's much easier for filter, 15g takes a minute. Can't imagine dialling in a new espresso with a Porlex!!
Ditched the Porlex for this anyway

Except I'm about as far from hip as anyone can be and I've had a thing for cold coffee products since mum switched me from breast milk to iced coffees in '81. Was a good year.

wow 8 minutes grinding is a long time for one cup so maybe i'll hold off my purchase for now. that said if you decide to get rid of the porlex vince give me a shout and I might reconsider!

Don't get it - it takes less than a minute with my Zassenhaus turkish to make enough for a moka cup.

Its generational, and nobody thinks they are one, everyone differentiates themselves from the ones that came before.
