Square Mile Tzampetey... wow, v.nice.

No, it's because it was a terrible photo, taken in dim conditions on my phone whilst trying to drink tea and iron my shirt.
The coffee really loved moving outside- more sunlight caused it to put on a huge growth spurt, the leaves are very glossy up close, and the newer ones are much darker than the old ones, a result of more chlorophyl I am assuming (and maybe miss spilling)
Apologies, sir. I didn't mean to disparage you or your coffee plant...
;)
Do you think you'll get beans eventually?

No idea- I would like to see it flower, but equally the coffee could grow to 30', and I'd prefer it not to do that, so swings and roundabouts I guess.

[QUOTE=Sparky;2430299] My chilli plants did well this year
Our chilli plants have done nothing yet. Any quick tips?
Maybe move onto coffee next... -

Maybe move onto coffee next...I re-potted them to give them lots of space, put them on a light windowsill, watered them lightly every day and gave them a touch of Baby-Bio. I think I could have got more chillis if I'd picked them earlier and did more chilli-sex (pollinating one plant with another, just prodding the flowers), but I was more interested in getting them established ready for next year. It's a bit late to expect much out of them now.

Yup.
Assuming it arrives in working order my Gaggia MM will be going cheap on here shortly afterwards...
...Sooo, the grinder BC forced me to buy up-thread turned out to be most awesome (thanks, again). Hence, the MM should probably be liberated from cupboard based exile.
Dunno what a fair price is for it really. I paid £99 a couple of years ago and it's been used for 2 mins a week ever since. TBH it's pretty crap and I reckon you'd be disappointed if you paid the £70 it seems to be available for now.
However - it might do a job for someone for £15?

£20 posted?

Sounds fair enough. It's a deal if you can wait until next week for me to sort it out?

lol.
anyone know where to get a decent coffee in Barcelona?

Quatre Gats. Coffee is average the history to the place not so.
Central cafe is otherwise a decent bet. AFAIK there's no coffee snobbery in Spain yet, you'd be hard pressed to find something like the clip a couple of posts above.

have eaten there before. done a bit of digging on the web and evidently there is not much good coffee made but lots of good coffee roasters.

I finally got round to ordering from Hasbean. Have to say, after all I've read, I was pretty underwhelmed with the Jailbreak; doesn't seem to matter how I make it, it always comes out tasting weak and wishy washy, without any real flavours. I'll keep at it because I can only assume I'm doing something wrong. Love their Brazil Fazenda Divino Espírito Santo Catuai though.
Should have a delivery of Magnus Backstedt's coffee coming today!
Try Jabberwocky - James and I think it's ace. -

Don't shoot me down but I urgently need to know what DECENT instant coffees there are out there.
I haven't had a coffee since Sunday and am now allowed instant here.
Help!

the few times i've been there i've always had perfectly fine espressos everywhere. no snobbery, just decent coffee for almost no monies

missmouse, I'll probably get flamed to a cinder for this, but Starbucks make a big song and dance about their instant. Also percol seems quite popular here in the office.
I can't claim to have had any real experience of either though, so I don't know if the above is of any help.
All the best with your recovery, whatever it is that you're in for.

now I'm normally a big fan of Square Mile roasts but I'm really not feeling their new 'Redbrick' blend.
Seems very 'thin' if that makes sense

I can be accused of being a little biased with this but the new Beyond Retro coffee shop in dalston is making a pretty decent coffee. Beans are from Small Batch in hove coffee.
I've been grabbing one in the mornings on the way to work . £2.10 not a bad price either for a flat white. Still prefer to hang out in Riley Rocket cafe though love that place. -

Any café in Helsinki has awesome coffee. They should though, they drink something like 3 times more per person per year than anywhere else. Kippis!
In London though, weirdly enough, the nicest latte I have had in ages was in the Diner in Camden.

Has that replaced the Winter Espresso? Thin is not something I want from an espresso.

Thanks. No percol here. Needs to be from a jar. Will have to investigate on line...
