In for Fridays. However I would rather tear out my eyes than buy one of the jerseys :-/

Snap.
I'm there every morning at ~08.30-08.45, so this will be fairly easy to make.

Be aware that it gets pretty busy friday, as the market is on...probably best to keep bikes to the other side of the street (market side) so not to clutter the entrance.

Thanks, both.
worth every penny, and so much better freshly ground.
The Peruvians well nice, bit milder on the heat front, quite chocolaty too... yum.

I already grind my own. Their prices still put me off though. Not going to go out of my way, but if I'm in the immediate vicinity…

I guess it depends how much you drink in a week. I was just discussing this exact thing with someone I work with in the kitchen and I said for the £6.50 I paid for 250g today it'll last me a week having 2/3 cups a day. there's people in the office who have more than one starbucks a day and probably spend 3x as much in a week.
whenever I'm buying it I tend to balk at the £23+ price noted for a kg but if you look at it comparatively with other coffee sources it's not that bad.

I made it for the brighton ride for everyone to have some for energies and anti-bonk type shenanigans, then I didn't go so had to eat the WHOLE THING myself*.

I buy 500grms of beans approx every two weeks. I don't mind paying £13-£15 for the beans. I have one coffee everyday maybe two at weekends. I enjoy coffee

Do they have specials? I'm used to getting 500g of whatever's on offer at Old Algerian, but that's gone up from £5 to £6 over the past 2 years, and I've been through enough options to know what I like, and I also know that I'd like a change.
Looks like I can try a couple of things at hasbean.co.uk, and get 500g of coffee for ~£10 delivered.
Tell me Monmouth regularly do a nice chocolatey/nutty option for 500g/£10, please. Like Brave, that would be my fortnightly fix.

Brixton/Camberwell/Herne Hill Southers who like Monmouth coffee should try out a new cafe in, of all places, Loughborough Junction Station. The Beanery is a really nice little cafe, nicely done up, does ace sandwiches and pizza and goood coffee and happens to be situated under one of the least loved railway stations in London. Just spent a pleasant 30 minutes winding down there at the end of my commute. Some poor sods have to catch a train for the privilege.

the house blend.
worth every penny and cheaper than most compared to caravan/st auli/illy etc.
i compare everything i try to this as it's my favourite and imho great value, it's easy to spend more and get less and i am yet to spend less on beans and get a better brew. -

In that case, I'll check it out and report back once I've got through my current batch of Nicaraguan (on which I'm not particularly keen).
-
• #4049
beanery you say? that's in my hood. will check it out.
only decent coffee i've found around camberwell is at anderson & co. (sq. mile) and number 67 @ SLG (allpress), unless I venture down to federation in brixton.
