I really enjoyed my French press today. Dark-ish roast lovely to wake up to.
Is it better for lighter or darker roasts or is it taste preference?

Thanks, takes a bit of time to dial in the taste, but I have high hopes for it.

Thanks, it's a Bezzera Strega - a weird lever/pump hybrid.

I've just got this topless one

I've just witnessed a serious macro aggression
One of our friends who's staying with us, previously on the forum way back when but doesn't come on here anymore, she used to live with us for a while too.
She said she didn't feel the coffee from the SPB had enough body so dropped half a teaspoon of instant into it to richen it up...

She’s no friend to you

She looks weighty 😋

Bigger IS better.

Totally agree.
I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole of making Rocky a grind by weight. There’s a great mod online it just looks ugly

have you already moved the pavoni on? :)

Does seem weird that static would build at up her shop and not at yours.
Could just be carpets and rubber shoes at one and tiles / leather soles at the other, I reckon. Or big humidity differences. Or both.
My Sette sometimes has grinds flying all over with static. Stirring the beans beforehand with a spoon dipped in water helps that though.

Fantastic looking beast! I like the boldness of the colours theme. Is this what they call brutalistic architecture? Looks just like Mazzer Jolly?
-
• #28292
No, I haven't but my La Pavoni is currently a shadow of its former self. It leaks from the bottom of the boiler, I think it's the element seal.

Our kitchen was redone since these pics were taken so no more RED! I'm afraid.

I agree "red one" is enough RED

I stupidly ruined my element (think I basically burnt off the seals after inadvertently starting it dry after a service).
Popping a new element in there was pretty straightforward though! Was €45, so not too bad all things considered (though you'll likely be replacing o-rings and picking up some sealant for the p-stat when replacing it, so that'll add a bit to the total cost)

How much do you want for it?
How accurate is the dispenser? I thought those dosers were known for being out all the time
-
• #28297
Never adjusted the doser and I would assume it's shit. We weighed everything with digital scales. Missus just said it didn't sell on ebay for £70 and it's just taking up space so how about £30 (collected, I'm not posting the bastard)?

Where are you based.
Dibs potentially.

No chance of me collecting. I’m in Peterborough.
If you decide you can post. Let me know.
