Ended up with this stuff as it was on clearance. Would rather it didn't have the flavouring but overall it's actually decent, without the flavouring I think I would almost say it's good...

Have a Clever Dripper which only gets occasional use. In SE15, you're welcome to it for a month.

Probably should have replaced this gasket a while back...

At least you got every possible coffee out of it!

2 weeks into eureka mignon specialita ownership, the coffee is ok (not as nice as hand ground), the timed dosing gives ok results +-1g (so again sometimes it rushes through and is a bit sour and sometimes takes too long and is a bit bitter) and the beans definitely age worse in the hopper vs a sealed killer jar that is opened every other day to decant into single dose jars…
It is much quicker than hand grinding though, still think a niche might be my sweet spot, will keep an eye out…

Would anyone in the US be able to order this Linea Micra plumb in kit and post it to me in Singapore?
It's $200 USD, in the US, or $428 SGD in Singapore (that's approximately £100 more in SG than the US, to add a third currency).

Although reading the Home Barista forum maybe I should get the SG version as it appears there are regional differences between machines.

in another vein would anyone like a Hario Skerton Pro for £20 posted. Grinder barely used (10x?), but I have used the glass for collection. Under a year old. Good for someone who wants a cheap peak into the coffee rabbit hole. I binned the box. Have a go, and if you CBA to hand grind, or want to upgrade, move on.

Pm me if you decide to order one from here.

$4,850 for the machine, which is £2,822 in todays money.

In my desire to buy a new machine, I settled on a Flair 58+ as they were on sale. Seems to be the most sensible option for an espresso only machine that is actually somewhat affordable.

What made you pick that over the Robot that you are familiar with? Just wanted to try something else?
I'm thinking of buying a Flair in time with one of those Drink Morning milk steam wand machine on the side

Robot is great but I wanted to be able to use industry standard sized puck prep tools and that’s honestly mostly it. I feel like the temp stability of a PID will lead to more consistency too in the long run. And the 58+ has a fully disconnectable power supply too so I can still take it camping and stuff if I really want to. Seems to have the pros of both the robot and original flair 58 combined into one.

Sounds good to me, looking forward to hearing how you find it. Guessing you'll be hand grinding with a 1zpresso?

Am I that obvious? Yes, a JX Pro. Had no issues with the robot with it but I am a little bit tempted to buy a DF64 and save the JX for filter….

Entertainingly Marzocco SG won't sell me the plumb in kit unless I also pay for their installation service, so ordering the kit from the US looks like the way forwards.

That's wild!

The warranty issue is pertinent here- if I install the kit myself I void the warranty. So, may end up having to go the official install route.

Hi TW
Try a coarser grind, firm tamp and shorter extraction with the YB.
We use it in the cafe and I find the Columbia is more prone to this than the previous Guatemala SWP.
Also find it's better with a full 19-20g in the basket for a 20-25s extraction which on paper might be on the acidic side but it tastes better around the shorter extraction and starts to get too smoky after 26s. YMMMV!
Yes the puck is slightly soggier than the caffeinated espresso but it still knocks out fine. -

Cheers for this!
Hopefully the grinder can deal with changing the grind settings & staying consistent for each.

Is this not the same kit for £185 in Malaysia?

That’s it- good spot. Now I just need the warranty question answering.
Raaad. Happy to avoid buying more plastic, would be all of December though - mince pies on return. What way is your way?
