There are machines that come in at five figures -- 10k is a bit steep.
Looking forward to tasty tasty shots of coffee now...

I'm guessing (since I don't have PID setup) that your technique, bean choice and grinding will affect the end result far more than machine temp.
Also, look for second hand stuff.. far less than new.
I just found the massive double grinder next door is bolted to the bench.. theft fail. :(

Yeh, I figure I'll just splash out on the new kit. Piece of mind for guarantees and that. I will take the plunge once we've moved in, and if the lack of PID is ever a concern I can come back to that. Grinder first, then a silvia...mmmm
I have to say I'm loving the tags, never noticed before, but they're hilarious.

an new neighbourhood café has opened at 103 shacklewell lane in dalston E8, called mouse & de lotz. they are serving square mile coffee, and munchables consist of homemade cakes and rustic sandwiches. the coffee execution is very good, and the space is very warm and inviting

My mate's Bialetti Moka pot safety valve isn't holding enough pressure. Are these a replaceable/serviceable part? I can't find spares for them.
770 euros! for now?
