I know Yellow Bourbon are the king of coffee in this manor but if any London based people want to support a local roaster then here's my referral code for a fiver off Dark Arts coffee (you can go and pick it up from them to have something to do).
Full disclosure, Dark Arts were involved with my bike gang years ago but I rate their coffee and pay full price.

How you folks storing your beans?
-
• #20081
I think Hoffman did a video on it and the conclusion was the best place to store your beans is in the bag you bought them in
-
• #20082
Likewise. And yes. That is a yoghurt pot.

Most bags are resealable and have a valve for the gases to escape, just stick on a shelf away from direct sun and strong smells. Probably not in a cupboard that stinks of those spices you bought when you moved in seven years ago.

Season finale has now aired.
They all sound like automatic machine guns and/or look like lab equipment.
My favourite was the one that looked most like a coffee grinder, despite its height.

It's this one from aliexpress

The thermometer is also quite accurate for room temperature and 100°C -

Can confirm that this is banging! As illustrated by the very small amount remaining in the bag...

What's the go to manual grinder, for use mostly at home (for one cup), but also carryable on the bike, hiking etc? Preferably under £50?
Need a grind mostly for aeropress.
-
• #20092
Doesn't the porlex fit inside the aeropress? I thought that was the one everyone used for as a travel combo? I could be be wrong though as I don't use an aeropress myself.
-
• #20093
Yeah I'd go Porlex for that, does fit inside the aeropress. Little bit more than £50 as far as I recall though.
-
• #20094
Aergrind is the one I fancy - uk made.
Think rhino / porlex fit. -

Would anyone be interested in my Dualit burr grinder for £40? Works great for filter but obviously not good enough for espresso.

Thanks all, that Travel Rhino looks to fit the bill. The Aergrind looks great, maybe in the future....
-
• #20097
As it happens do I have a Rhino mini you could have for 25€
-
• #20098
Not sure on the various types of Rhino, between regular, mini & travel. But my regular Rhino doesn't fit inside the aeropress. The travel one looks to fit fine (obviously, as that's the whole selling point)

• #20099
Ah, just ordered a travel.
Will report how it fits, which it should.

I'm sure all of the grinders at that price point are very good, my brother just got a 1zpresso and has been singing its praises. Felt very well made when I held it
Getting some tasty shots out of the Robot of late
