where is good to buy beans around Kew/Chiswick, so when i fail to buy coffee beans in central london i can buy a stop gap
otherwise of the beans sold in supermarkets are there any decent ones?
If you're South - Stockwell
West - Portobello Road
East - Mare Street
North - CamdenAny Portuguese shop will sell, what for me is, the best coffee beans money can buy (for a decent price, no pseudo-fancy shit).
I shit you not, don't doubt it, try it, please. It's a mix of Brazilian beans, the brand is called

I've started traveling 15 blocks for my morning cup of coffee I just discovered they Serve Stumptown at the Ace. Seriously when your in America try it, its every where on the left coast and the only reason that I'm ok with the existence of Portland. If your in NYC get it at the Ace Hotel, its how a coffee shop should be.

I stayed in the Ace over New Year's - lovely coffee and a great hotel too.
It would have been good to bump into you CC. Sorry for not hooking up - it was a romance not bromance trip.

Hippy. - Ta for the home barista site recommendation you posted much earlier in the thread. I had no espresso mojo this weekend and needed a hand working something out.

Went to an Ethiopian restaurant once. They kept dashing past with coffee beans roasting on a plate, they then made coffee fresh at the table. I am not a connoisseur, but it was very nice.

Same at the Eritrean place in Brixton, Asmara. Although they put spices in the coffee, so probably not for the purists on this thread.

The beer is nice too.
Waitrose sell 2 or 3 varieties of beans. I use them as my 'backup'.
There's also Whittards in Ealing (and maybe elsewhere) and on Pitshanger Lane a little store called Pitshanger Pantry that does beans.
