  • she is wonderful and worth it, and despite her complaining about the poor shots she is reticent to make more of an effort distributing the grounds

we have a compak K10 grinder and the orchestrale nota at home so it is probably in keeping with our general over spend attitude towards coffee - neither of us drink booze so we can sort of justify it. hence why i am looking at the water filter when we move

  • It's a ludicrous over indulgence, but worth it to us.

  • ONA OCD v2

Looks like something @mdcc_tester could draw, machine and sell for 10th the price.

You're not too busy over xmas are you, tester?

  • Looks like something @mdcc_tester could draw, machine and sell for 10th the price.

Nope. I'd probably need 10 firm orders to even match that price, to get to half of it would need at least 100.

  • It's ok, I've made one out of sugru and an old hub.

  • I've made one out of sugru

The proper way to rip off the design would be to make a Sugru mould from Mrs. DJ's original and then cast replicas in some sort of resin.

  • Hipsteresque coffee has made it to small Malaysian towns

  • A better shot of their setup

  • I went to somewhere similar in Medan, North Sumatra. It seemed a bit incongruous in the general scheme of the city and there wasn't really anyone in there. It was a flagship of the processing mill in the city who do some very hi-tech, high quality processing with the best lots they handle. You can't often get nice coffee at all in producing countries but Indonesia keep some good stuff back to show everyone what they ought to be shooting at.

  • I was joking but yeah, like copying a key.

    #convictjokes

  • Turns out the switch was fine, This bit however is, i believe, Fucked!
Parts ordered now to strip, clean and replace the washers etc on the rest of it.
Whats the best wire to replace the burnt bits with?

  • I would just strip some out of any 13a 3-core flex, but heat-resistant stuff is available and probably a good idea.

  • Cheers.

  • Bench vice required. Two of the bolts holding the group head to the boiler just won't budge.
    Tedious machine.

  • there are lots of copies available already, but the current evidence looks like the the Pullman Chisel being more efficient

  • Image upload failed earlier so have a Google photos link: https://goo.gl/photos/J8W6EqCVgQK35QfE7

This is I think an effort to offer something exotic to the locals - there certainly aren't many tourists here. Most coffee in Malaysia has margarine in it so freshly ground espresso makes a nice change. It was passable. Bought an aeropress and got them to grind me some coffee so I'll know soon how it fares.

  • That's a funky little setup - domestic machine and air roaster. I guess they're using Indonesian coffee are they?

I had coffee in a little roadside cafe which was robusta cut with maize and filtered through a cloth. Not great! This was the exception though, there was a choice of arabica beans and brewing methods at most cafes and many roasted their own on good quality drum roasters on site. Big surprise that.

  • I don't think they have a roaster, just the espresso machine, grinder and a Taiwanese blendtec knockoff

  • Alright coffee heads. Got an Anfim grinder for sale and a nice little knock drawer. Can't remember the rules on selling.

Post in classifieds and then link in here?
