  • From Wikipedia: "Close to Ditchling Beacon is a small spur known as Blackdog Hill, which is reputedly haunted by a headless black dog."

    Night ride, perhaps?

I wanna see the headless black dog. Lets make sure we include this hill en-route

  • we gots to get organasized.

Yeah, agreed. If someone has a route planned, post it up and I will print out copies to give to everyone at the start. Might help so we don't have to stop every 2 miles.

If you believe the beeb, we'll have a 17mph tailwind pushing us all the way there. Sweet!

Have (hopefully) attached a cheatsheet. Unfortunately I can't make it - it's up to you whether you go this way or not!

(Edit) ok the file upload didn't work. I'll think of something else.

  • That looks like a nice route.

  • cool thanks for the times, i'm still debating do I ride into central (15miles) for the start or shall I be lazy and train it? maybe 15slow miles

  • Agreed. That route looks great. Brett, if you can't upload the cheat sheet file, could you email it to me? andydoingtheuk at hotmail dot com

    Cheers.

  • emailed to Lebowski!

The original link you posted worked - embedded Zip file, no?

  • Tried again but get a "corrupt" message from this end.
    (Edit) choose "save", not "open"

  • route looking good. with the weather being brighter I'm actually starting to look forward to it...
just realised that this map starts just down the road from me, in oval, so may get one of you boys to ring me when you're in full cry from hyde park corner so I can hook up with you as you motor towards clapham

you'll have to get your speed up corny cos the lfgss train is gonna be coming through oval at a hell of a docket - yee fuckin haa!!!

  • Cheers Brett, that cheat sheet could make all the difference. We'll have a pint for you once (if) we make it to Brighton.

  • Nothing wrong with gears. I'm tempted to ride the nice bike there and back.. but then I won't wanna be waiting around for punctures and shit and then the social aspect disappears and then I may as well just ride the hills out west.. what a fscking conundrum!

just do it fixed dude, like you say if you take the gears you'll be off the front and may as well be riding in chattanooga

  • I disagree. Ride it geared and see how many times you can manage London to Brighton to London to Brighton before we've even made it there.

my money is on half ;)

  • my money is on half ;)

or less, watch for those punctures hippo!

  • my money is on half ;)

    How much money?
Bearing in mind that I would guarantee my winning by stating "less than half" and locking hippy's bike up for him at the start of the ride ;]

  • I could probably do there and back before you make it there.. but it depends on one fatal failing not happening to me.. that is.. me getting totally and absolutely feckin' LOST!

Sometimes I struggle to navigate my way out of my studio flat.. it's that bad :)

  • Is that why you never come to west end drinks. Scared you'll get lost on the way home?

  • yeah, i have moved away from him, no one to escort him home :(

  • Awww. Poor deserted Hippy :]

  • Is that why you never come to west end drinks. Scared you'll get lost on the way home?

What do you mean? I've TRIED to get to westie drinks every week.. ;)

  • Don't you work in the city?
I can pick you up from your office and escort you to the pub if you like. Then you can get a black cab home with your bike so that you don't get lost.

  • hehe that's mighty kind of you.. but truth be told murtle has been straining the relationship of late and I think we need time apart..

(I've stopped drinking again and training is on the up so don't need late pub nights.. makes me boring but more effective)
