Bad luck, mate. There's quite a lot of bike-jacking going on at the moment. Happened to some woman round the corner from me off Old St recently. And they never seem content with just taking the bike - always want to pile in a bit first.

Hope you heal up quick and there's no major damage in the ribcage.

mikec Man thats fucked up. There are scum pretty much on every corner in London nowadays. The thing is, when you are cycling, you don't really notice it. My wife has been saying for a few years now how bad London is, but I always brushed it aside as this was the place I grew up in and I suppose I didn't want to admit it. But its getting worse. I had a very similar thing recently. Luckily for me I was sober, but I had a puncture and was having to push my bike through this real shit hole part of Holloway late the other night and these little fuckers started following me. I knew what they were up to. So I hung around at a bus stop for a while with some other people. Didn't risk trying to fix it, but when they wouldn't leave I had to ride on it flat just to get away from them. Little fuckers. Personally I would have them all shot. This didn't happen in Hackney by any chance did it. Just the sort of thing they get up to round there too!

Hope you get your bike back. Will also keep an eye open for it

Luckily I have another bike to ride for the moment, a plus being it is much faster.

Been lying low this weekend, in bed watching movies on the Internet as it hasn't felt good to walk around (or breath).

I am gutted to have lost my stuff but I am also thankful I didn't get stabbed or have someone drop a paving slab on my head, which has been known to happen in London

I have been playing against luck for quite along time here in London and I guess it has finally caught up and got me but good, I am not that tough a fighter and usually have my wits and observation to help keep me out of trouble. Both which I had handicapped with the previous evenings drinking.

I didn't see these guys coming and that bit was my fault, once I hit the the floor all I could really do was protect my head and just roll with it.

I had similar happen to me in Balham a couple of years ago. Got punched off my bike, followed by a few kicks. Fortunately I was wearing a lid, which offered me protection that I had never imagined. I managed to get back on my feet, and they legged it so at least I didn't lose my bike (that really sucks). The coppers were sympathetic but useless. By the third exlpanation that I was on a bike and attacked by two people on foot, rather than me on foot vs. two on bikes I realised that Sherlock Holmes was otherwise engaged.
