I am posh
I wonder what percentage of curryers are university educated. I suspect that it is rather high.

wouldn't bother really, no work out there, it's so quiet my company are shutting down the pushbike channel and chucking what are left of us on the motorbike circuit in the new year.
i do it as a second job and to keep the beer belly down but would be in trouble if i was just relying on the wages from this. -

Wow, I missed this one! Phew.
The place to check for all sorts of answers (some contradictory, but there you go, ask 2 couriers the quickest way from the Foundry to the Snow and you'll get at least 3 different answers) to questions you might have about becoming a courier:

Will, your too posh to ride a raleigh. Even if you are from the midlands.
Which company is that, Billa?

Wigan may be around the middle of Britain but it's in the north of England and is certainly NOT in the midlands. You are confusing me with MessenJah.
Which company is that, Billa? Same as Sid I think; unless Billa *is *Sid but that seems unlikely.

Oh I seeee! (I wasn't being self-deprecating - I probably am statistically irrelevant. After all, there are hundreds of other female couriers in London, aren't there?)
Strictly speaking, you wouldn't be much use to statistics about accidents amongst female couriers in London if you were the only female courier in London.

Recently made redundant and need to get some coin coming in.
I had a brief spell about 10 years ago and have still got the legs for it.Have phoned round the following firms: Cyclone, MPC, Creative, Reuter Brooks, Holborn Globe trotters, Mach 1 and a few others but no leads...
Does anyone know if anyone is hiring or any other ways to get ahead?

I wish there was any good news but there isn't. July/August are always the worst months to find a courier job and this year is worse than ever. I used to work at one of the companies you mention and have friends there; the pay for new riders is pretty dire and the company itself may not be going much longer.
You may, if you are very persistent, find a job somewhere but don't expect to earn much. You'd be better off looking again in the autumn. Good luck either way. -

Anyone know any companies that have messenger jobs going? My mate is looking and, before he goes round all the companies in the phone book, I thought one of you may have a tip.
