  • flip, sure did. didn't know that was you (how could I). i think i gave a friendly nod. can loan you a front wheel for a bit if that helps too.

i thought you were holding a set of deep-Vs. are they FUBAR now?

  • hael Also flip, I have a old conversion that you could borrow untill you get the bike sorted proper if you like, nothing special but it will get you A to B meanwhile :)

    Oi!

That has my wheelset on it!

But it would be fine none the less, thanks for asking :o
Also if he is going to ride that deathmobile he will be wanting a front brake.

  • jonny I still have that selle seat as well !

  • Burn the curry house/take a hammer to the wank in the window and kill his kids in front of him ride - date TBA

    1. Hael (dual weilding hammers)
2 chris crash (top that bottle with an oly rag)
      3 Nicholas (brick man)
      4.MA3K (beer/muffins distribution liaison officer)
  • here's my rear rim. i just opened a flickr account, more damage can be seen at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/23431536@N06/2237696742/

thanks to those who offered a spare bike [even if it was without their friend's permission :)]
phil (triathlete) loaned me a set of wheels and a saddle, so once i get a chain at least i'll be able to zip around and pick up the necessary bits from those who've offered.
see you tomorrow, hopefully, at the polo

  • God, I'm even more annoyed now I've seen some pics.

Let's string the cunt up, cut his hands and feet off and let him bleed to death.

    Fucking cunt.

  • ...and of course I would never dream of suggesting that you pour about 20 litres of this stuff through the guys letter box, it would probably completely fill his hallway before setting rock hard. That would just be nasty. (PS you would also have to be careful about the fumes given off)
If someone was foolish enough to take matters into their own hands they might decide to wait a couple of weeks first to be on the safe side... a guy like that will have pissed of plenty of other people in that time and won't remember someone he pissed off from a while back... a dish best served cold, etc.

  • The vigilante crew needs to be careful though. Whoever cut through that Conti probably wouldn't hesitate to stick their blade in your guts :(

    +1
It is always better to think about these things than to actually do them, and he does sound like a nasty piece of work.

  • well grab his wrist and stick the thing up his fucking nose, you nancies!

cunts who pack blades bleed to death

    these are my feelings.
i was furious last night, and felt totally powerless to do anything, but it's not worth risking anything. i appreciate the support, but these guys aren't worth it. i've nearly got a temporary setup rolling, soon it's my birthday and hopefully that will get me enough money for a new wheelset. at the police station, the lady copper told me that people get stabbed in brick lane and they can't do anything because no one will come forward to testify. i'd rather this was a warning to people about their bikes, and maybe something will even come of the legal route.

  • Jesus, those photographs are absolutely appalling.
Doesn't look like the work of thieves, why would they do such wholesale damage to stuff they could sell.
If thieves couldn't get the bike complete they would get industrious with the spanners and allen keys, take everything they could.
The time they would spend doing that damage they would have stripped the bars and seat/post, rear wheel.
I believe this was the work of a malicious bike-hater that just happened to be walking around with a hammer and stanley knife, or perhaps lived there.

    -edit-
(I have just seen Sweeney Todd)

  • Either that or (as suggested before) spray some piece of shit bike hot pink with lots of rainbow stickers on it and lock it to their window.

We could start an unwanted lock pool, I have got a few old locks kicking about.

  • Who's got a van?
I'd spend £50 for 50 shitty police auction mtb's just to dump them on this cunts front step.

You've spoken to the police. Can they get CCTV footage? Speak to Tower Hamlets council and see if they can get the footage.
If it checks out to be the cunt in the doorway, I'd like to know which doorway it was.

At 5am, even the knife-wielding crazies have passed out. It'd be a free for all..

  • seeing those pictures has got me fuming... i dont think i have been this pissed off since..... i don't even fucking know when.

if i was at the scene and that was my bike i would have probably hurt some one then cried... or get hurt by some one and then cry.

truly fucked man. your have taken this a lot better then i would.

  • that is fucking ridiculous. not the first time i heard about bike vandalism in brick lane, but this is just way over the top! i think i feel pretty much the same as chris crash at the moment... and it also makes me sick that it seemed that no one seemed to give a shit at the scene when it was happening? sure it can't be right if someone's trashing a bike locked to some railings. or maybe someone called the po po and they were too "busy" to even take a look?

  • Leave it for two weeks or so, perhaps even a month.

Lock up a suicide bike in the same location.

Film any criminal damage from the back of a closely parked van.

    Post the footage on Youtube.

Distribute the link to the Youtube video through a leafleting campaign throughout the whole area + posters of the culprit pasted around the area.

  • tynan - they'll not give a crap.

flip - looks worse than I thought. really crappy luck. do you have any home contents insurance you could claim on?

  • Wow those pictures are scary! Definitely not theives. That's psychopathic anger towards your bike. Can you imagine the noise it would have made? Somebody saw something for sure.
What worries me is that to have so much anger towards a locked up bike is madness.
What tools would they have been carrying?
We should definitely lock up a cheap bike there and see what happens.

It was either that bloke in the window. (Why else would he not give you answers?!)
Or a group of young thugs who are doing it to rebel against....? whatever it might be.

I used to live there and have seen attacks on cars, shops, window, park furniture etc.
Around the corner there's a small car park which when I passed once, every single car (x7) was slashed and bricked.
In fact, it's at the end of the road where your bike was!

I'd imagine you're not the first to have their bike fucked with. Like someone pointed out, if you have to lock your bike don't do it near a side street.

I'm pleased you have brought this to light and hope you're back riding asap.

  • h2o tynan - they'll not give a crap.

You're probably right, but the police may be compelled to act if the footage is given to a 'London Tonight' researcher looking for a filler story.

    ?

  • yep, send it to London tonight, they'll show it on a slow news day

  • also, i have a friend whos a BBC news journalist, can always pass it on

  • what, like "Crime goes on publicly whilst bystanders and police do nothing"

"Brick Lane, 'No Go Area' Crime Hotspot, Police Scared to Enter"

a far cry from the multi cultural, hip and happening love-in that people might have you believe
