Own speed but in bunches, so a couple of guys were fast and stuck together, a couple where less fast and stuck together, etc.
You eyeball everyone at the start and remember what they're wearing so you can spot 'em later on.
Kinda regrouped at the feed point a bit too (well, we were there for what? 3 hours?!) -

addie Only if you promise not to head off in the wrong direction.
Again.
Following Scott.
Following the random blinky light that was probably just a badger with a lighter up its arse. And if I really need a brake, then that means riding on the multicoloured beast, not the comfy, sexy red one.
:(Are you in town yet?
I'm half-fancying a cheeky half before I head off North…I am not sure I followed Scott.
I followed a retard who managed to get us lost with a gps navigation device thing.
We didn't get on. -

cornelius blackfoot I've marked the date in my diary, and am definitely Into getting some miles (longer rides) into the legs sooner rather than later.
Question: is it too early to start a list?I shouldn't think so..

I'd love to do this, but am definitely gonna struggle with my current fitness level. Anyone in the Islington/Brick Lane area up for some training rides over the next few months?

In principle yes, I have been toying with the idea of doing some longer rides on Sunday mornings to get used to longer distances. How would that sound?

Yeah, sunday mornings are perfect. Got any routes in mind?
-
• #62
London - Manchester - London
London - Edinburgh - London -
• #63
Piss take?
London to Edinburgh is 450 miles each way! -
• #65
On fixed?
Anyone fancy making the Dynamo a training run then.
Cycle to dunwich, have breakfast, cycle home. -
• #66
Some people were doing that. DD there and back. I wouldn't do it fixed.
I'm thinking about trying to do it at speed actually.. see how fast I can do it. Only if it's dry tho. -

No idea at the moment. I'm doing the Australia day night road this Saturday so not really up for it on Sunday morning - but will be on Sunday's after.
Are you on the night ride? If so, make sure you say hello - I'll be on a black and white condor and wearing a helmet. (yes, I am a wanker ;-) )

I'm going to start training doing laps of richmond park first.
because if I blow or get a mechanical, it's only 5 miles back home.
don't fancy being stuck out in kent, at 5pm on a sunday evening, hungry, in the dark, in the rain, surrounded by men with beards and no way to escape

Tony RPMinson learned to fear beardy weirdies on Time Team.

Ye who would never venture outside. Ye of few group rides. Ye of witty forum banter as opposed to 'training' chatter? If you're worried I'll end up lighter than you.. don't ;)

kowalski, shut yer gob.
personal insults are accepted (sometimes) from people who know me
-

That's me told.
No, really.
we all pretty much set-off together but invariably on such a large/long ride breakaway groups happen.
I was pretty much on my own for about 20 miles at one stage but it's cool coz you meet plenty of people along the way.
