what's that stem? It looks like a Transformer

just out of morbid curiosity, how much would one pay for such a set up? the ergostem and paul lever are both out of my price bracket.

a very 'british' fixed
french stem?
japanese bars?
american break lever?: )
-

its a LOOK ajustable stem for dialing in TT riding position, on the bareknuckle I suffer with numb hands anything over twenty miles, this set up is designed to find a riding position to eliminate that, also I like these stems, i think they are kinda cool
I just want to say that this forum and the people who post here are an absolute inspiration to me, this bike will look the bollox and *that is thanks to you lot *,so I suppose I owe you lot a pint...;)

is that a super vigorelli?
I like the geometry of those, seems spot on to my eye. the BB is high but not silly high, clearances sensible not fag-paper.
If I ever earn any money this year/next year, I think that would be my next frame

Bike to work scheme?

nice colour combination, which adds up to a bit, as i'm awaiting a re-spray from them.
can we get close ups of the finish and out of 10 how would you rate the work?
-
• #17
its a 'special strada' with all the roadie bits taken off and chromed track drop outs, the geometry is a degree slacker on the seat tube than the vigorelli as this is going to be 'day-bike' for riding out in the summer, no bottle mounts as they are going TT style behind the saddle ... this cost me a hundred quid a month over twelve months... the finish is excellent ...but what I like most is that is that it is not 'perfect' ...it has obviously been done by hand...more photos later as I build it up

The Roman Emperor Agricola described the british/celtic tribes (about 2000 years ago) as a collection of bastards, mongrels and barbarians of no discernable origin. No change there then.

very nice! how long long did it take to get the frame?
-
• #21
it's awesome. I love that if you spend a grand on a bike, you get something so beautiful. spend a grand on a car and you've got a vauxhall corsa or something. this logic is lost on my better half unfortunately.

• #22
wow, that looks awesome. the paint job looks great, and so does the bar/stem/lever combo!

Looks lovely buddha - please don' put deep vs on it :) (actually do whatever you want, since it's yours).
Just one thing - you generally shouldn't clamp the frame tubes as they can be quite fragile and get dented. Bst thing is to pop a seatpost in and clamp on that. I'm sure you already know, but I'd hate to see that frame get damaged.

Blue deep-vs!! Go-on... nice bike, keep posting as you add parts Buddha. :-)
I also weirdly like ergostems - very much of an era though? Good luck balancing new/old in the build, will be unique. -
