Baikalblauw? From your pic and the '92 catalogue I think you could very well be right.
I am not surprised about lack of knowledge at Gazelle or any equivilent company on things like this. Passion for Vintage is a specific thing. Even passion of for particular brand will also not be present with each individual working for that brand. I once visited Koga. Someone very high in the hierarchy gave me a tour in the museum and told me a particular bike on display was their very 1st aluminum bike. I thought; what is he talking about? The bike was in fact filled brazed and chromed. Maybe he is still good at his job, but I were kinda surprised.
Finally, I could also imagine people at some companies get tired of answering mails with all kind of questions about decades old bikes. To some extent fine, but when it takes an fte it is no fun anymore I could image. Some companies have put all their old catalogues online now. I think they did wise with that.
Maybe Gazelles incompetence in coming up with info on your frame is a combination of lack of knowledge and ignorance. Overall what I hear on Gazelle in similar cases is quite good though.

Oooops, very nice tandem, apart from the colours and most components.
It's a (semi-) race tandem in Reynolds 531 from the lightweight devision.
Bloody cheap. -

DC what's the general dimensions of a Gazelle super special in comparison to an AA or AB frame? am I right in thinking an AB has a longer TT compared to an AA? I know a super special has a shorter wheel base due to crimping in rear but do these frames have a shorter TT than an AA? What were the super special frames specifically designed fo, TTing? Sorry lots of answers required, cheers Jack

There is no Super Special. It's either AA-Super or AA-Special.
Basically they al have the same geometry, but AA-Super has a shorter rear end.
AA-Super has been designed to get a stiffer and more agile race bike for allround road racing. -

There was one on eBay I was considering, but possibly a bit small for me so just trying to work out sizing, I have an AB in 58cm and a gazelle track in 57cm ,this was 57cm.

Gaspipe Gazelle "Solide" frame and fork for commuting or schoolboys.
Seatpost from a jumble or Marktplaats.
Handlebars turned upside down.

^ yes
maybe seller is selling on and just used the original pics?
-
• #798
Yes, that is my garden set. The bike indeed belonged to Laurent Roux.
I offered it in aug/sept for 350 gbp. A ridiculously low amount of course. It sold within a blink of the eye and several sincerally interested good people were in tears because they hadn't reacted quick enough. I dropped the bike off in UK during my holiday. It is a bummer it destinied to leave now, but it is the sellers good right. Not correct is he didn't take the effort to snap his own pics.
I could have been very childish and a real pain by saying it is mine and I still have it here. The auction is fraudulent and so on.
But I am a nice guy. Seller could proove he is a nice guy too by getting in touch with me: I have a lead to some good people for him.

That's a lame thing to do. He comes across as a bit of a prick, stating international shipping cost as FREE yet in the ad there's a little line about him adding the shipping cost to where ever the buyer is after the auction is over. You'd have no way of knowing how much he is going to charge and seeing as the auction doesn't have a reserve, I wouldn't be surprised if he'd just add a liberal amount if the winning bid turns out to be lower than what he's hoping for.

small track frame on ebay currently
55cm top tube
Thanks, I checked the catalogues. My guess for the blue is 'baikalblauw 68'. Do you agree? Funny you have to get all this knowledge from a forum: Gazelle unfortunately can't come up with the info.
