  • Complete frame respray is a bit of a shame.
Try spot repair at a good painter. It's worth it.

A good painter can also help you to fill it with epoxy filler before painting.

Best is, to take it to a frame builder who can try to reduce the dent with a round clamp, a vice and a work bench. I doubt if comes out perfectly round and straight.
I guess it still needs filling, filing and sanding it the reapired spot.
Frame builders fill with epoxy filler (or whatever the stuff may be) or silver solder.
Still no need to repaint the whole frame, but if you don't touch up the repaired spot, it doesn't make sense to repair it at all.
If you decide to respray the whole frame, have it done at a very good bike frame painter with wet paint.
You can try Cyclomondo decals, but make sure to order the correct style # 2. Not the other one!
    So, use [this](http://i.ebayimg.com/08/!BV3FhjgCGk~$(KGrHgoOKioEjlLmfBoYBKUpPsQpNQ~~_12.JPG).
Besides that, in The Netherlands and Belgium, there must be quite some Gazelle replica decals that are NOT from Cyclomondo. "Illegal" Gazelle paint jobs and replica decals exist for decades. No idea where and how to find these though.

Excellent painters can mask the current decals. In that case, you don't need new ones. That's what forum member Zieleman did with his Zieleman frame.

  • i bought some gazelle decals (i think waterslides) from http://www.defietsenmaker.nl/index.php?action=home&lang=EN at a bike show, i found them in a box where there were some more, he doesnot have them on his site but maybe when you mail him he will still sell them to you, i think i paid around 10,- EURO

  • E8,- Fruit ;) Just sent Mario an E-mail.. I'm sure he still has a few sets left, otherwise he will know where to get them.

they used to be so rare around london
i ony remember seeing having ever seen 2 when this forum started up
now due to all the imports they are almost as common as colnago's

  • Who wants these?
Let's say GBP 15.- for the three excl P&P.

    and this one

  • Xmas coming up.
Who wants this billfold, purse, whatever you call it?
For business cards, credit cards, small notebook, etc...
    New, unused, actually quite old.
    I think it's imitation leather.
Grey with silverish Gazelle logo on the front.
Pen is just for size indication.

    For free.
Just postage to be paid by you.
Of course for a real Gazelle fan and forum member.

  • that would look good on the gazelle ride, when ever it happens, getting the first round in

  • Nice Gazelle Tenderlion, just got out bidded on ebay for that frame.... wondering if anyone has something similar (53-54cm lugged steel frame) up for grabs to send to Germany????

Looking around the 50-100 squid mark.

  • this is probably the most informative Gazelle related information page you can find on the web

  • that would look good on the gazelle ride, when ever it happens, getting the first round in

    this should happen

  • gazelle ride.... amazing idea - with the amount of fine Gazelle being supplied on the forum from enthusiastic Dutchman im sure we could get a nice bunch of us on our shiny steeds rolling through London.

It would be a great experience with like-minded Dutch racing bicycle enthusiasts - any dates in mind?

  • I'd be up for a London - Dieren expedition someone mentioned in this topic before.

  • I still do have this up - if anyones lacking. ;)

  • Lets have a Gazelle Geek Out sometime soon.

  • Lots of nice things to do around Dieren.
Best place to ride a road bike in NL.
    Velodrome very nearby (Apeldoorn).
    Nice MTB trails too.
    Campings.
    Railway station.
Playground for kids, zoo in Arnhem, Apeldoorn, Rhenen, museums very close.
So, good for the family, too.
    We can set up something.
    Spring would be best.

  • Hi,

once while surfing for informations about gazelle I find this gorgous thread... -)

But reading this thread I noriced that the "muddy section" is underrepresented. I think there is something to be done...

    best regards

  • Dutch, or anyone else, what's the seatpost size on a '85 Champion Mondial and '90's Formula Race?
For as far as I know, CM was 27.2mm and 27.0mm for the Formula?
    I can't remember where I read this..

  • CM was "always" 27.2mm.
Only exceptions were 70cm frame and ladies kruisframe => 26.4mm
Maybe a very old, exceptional 753 had 27.0mm, but I'm not sure of that.

All Formulas en Trophies had 26.4mm.
At least all the ones with 531 pg tubing.
    Don't know about 501 and 525 tubes (1990's) ?

  • Dear Dutch Cheese aka Gazelle God of the Forum.

I recently bought a 'Brands' branded frame from a fellow forum member Rih.
when I saw the listing I noticed that it came with Zeus2000 forks which I was aware that were features of some Gazelle champion mondials. Also it has Bocama longpoint lugs and Campagnolo dropouts, and the same wrapping seatstays
    and it has these decals

I tried to dig in and find out more about this shop but I couldnt find out very much about it.
Not a Gazelle (perhaps a frame built be Gazelle for the shop?) but its an Amsterdam label so was wondering....
Do you know anything about this shop/brand?

  • Thanks, Harry, for your answers both here and in my thread.
They are '90-'95 era bikes with 525 tubing and just tested it with 26.6, which was too small.
Then, according to classicbikeshop.eu , I found out that Formula's apparently take a 27mm seatpost.

  • I found out that Formula's apparently take a 27mm seatpost.

Could be possible, but not for the 1st series.
All Reyn. 531 pg seat tubes take 26.4mm seat posts.
You must be talking about 1990's 525 frames.

  • Dear Dutch Cheese aka Gazelle God of the Forum.
Do you know anything about this shop/brand?

Not God, maybe his son ;-)

Brands was (is) a Gazelle dealer from Amsterdam.
I know that Gazelle produced some frames for Brands with Brands decals.
If I remember well, that were not top of the bill Champion Mondial frames, but Trophy series from 531 pg tubing.
I cannot exclude that Gazelle ever built Reynolds 531c frames from Brands with Brands decals. It's posible.
However, Brands could have had frames built omewhere else, too.
It's very difficult to believe that he got frames from Gazelle only.
Maybe you've got to look for stamp marks in BB shell, frame numbers, etc.
