My Girlfriend's Gazelle Champion Mondial, with super tight clearances, a wishbone rear stay and a slightly sloping top tube. The history of the bike is a bit hazy, it came to the Racers after being used as a loan bike for the informal group (Meadowbank Flyers) run by Alan Nisbet around 1982.
In 1986 after the Commonwealth games it was taken over by Allister who ran the youth development role with the City of Edinburgh Racing Club and he remembers the bike being well used by the kids who were "a good bit better" than the "give it a try kids" and the bike was used on the UK outdoor track circuit .
Some of the kids that used the bike from (Allister's) memory were Carol Grey who was a UK points race champion, Daisy Sherwood who won the UK Grass championships, Kate Cullen CG medalist in Melbourne.
Jenny Davis used the bike before getting her own track bike and won several Scottish championships on the bike and went on to win a silver in the Delhi CG. After that it was not much used as they got a fleet of Dolan Precursas and steel frames kind of fell from favour. -
