Hi! Has anyone in Camberwell got a headset tool I could use? It's for my first ever bike
Cheers -

Joe - Best bet is to use the LBS, if they are OK they may let you loose in their workshop. For my build I got the tools as I purchased the parts, unless it's a high value tool, then I used the LBS. You will find plenty of examples of home made tools - but always use the correct tool for the job.

Hi all, I'm looking for a pop-rivet gun. I need to re-attach my head tube badge to my falcon and don't want to kill the puppies by gluing or screwing as it was originally fixed with the pop-rivets.
Anyone on here got one?Got a rivet gun if you want to sort your headbadge.
Has anyone got a strong bench vice with nice straight edges? I need to get a fixed bb cup out, also from a falcon incidentally -

Cheers nat, you go to any of the drinks? We could potentially meet up and I can fix it on there and then, saving having to take it away. I don't have a vice tho unfortunately. Has the cup welded itself in there?

Yeah, I went down yesterday and they tightened it for me but seems they tightened it too much and now it's horrible and creaky. Will to go back and get this shit wd40'd...

I'm in SE1 and have a proper (Cyclus) headset press for any size, also if it's specifically a 1" steerer I also have the reaming and facing tool for the frame if it has never been prepped properly, and a 1" die for cleaning or extending theaded steerer threads. Oh, and a jig for cutting the steerer. Happy to do straightforward intalls for a beer or two... offer open to all ;-)
good on ya

I appreciate that this may not be the best place to take the piss out of the feeble minded, but how low would your IQ have to be to ride fixed and not know that buying your own lock ring tool and chain whip is part of the deal? It's like riding pneumatic tyres and not knowing how to fix a puncture.

well einstein.
i'm staying at my folks, my tools are at mine.. which i dont go back to until after the weekend.
i checked with the lbs near my parents (newly opened shop) and they didnt have one.. its rural essex so no track specific shops.so yeah, in hindsight i should have packed the lockring tool / chainwhip / but i also forgot my phone charger too, shit happens and people are forgetful.

Apologies, that did come off a bit specific to you, and I thought just after I hit post that you might be away from home. In general, though, there seem to be a few posts on this thread from people who are missing really basic and quite cheap tools; crank pullers, lock ring tools (fixed or cassette), BB tools etc. who need to HTFU

no worries dude.
i also forgot a lighter, so had to walk 20 mins to the garage at 1am last night to get a lighter, my parents don't have a single lighter or box of frikkin matches in the whole house!
I'm gonna go to help out today at the Tower Hamlets Wheelers workshop until about 1 o'clock (workshop goes on until 3 but I won't be able to stay).
So you can come over there or to my house tomorrow. email me if you want my address.
