The film is utter tripe. Another piece of shite that people like for some reason. Quick, demonise the Russians!! They cheat with drugs!! And kill people!! And that fucking robot?! I think it's actually worse than Rocky V and that's saying something.

Tripe for sure. I’ve got a soft-spot for it though, as it was the first video we rented when we got our first VHS player back in those heady days. I chucked a sicky from school the next day and watched it over and over as I couldn’t believe this new fangled technology. It doesn’t disguise its politics, true, but mainstream American film never does.

Rocky 1 & 2 are decent stories at least. From 3-5 it gets weird and all the characters start acting really strangely. Then in Balboa it all comes back.
