hey guys, I need to send some packet to London, does anyone know the best/cheapest company to use?
thanks a lot in advance -

Berlin is awesome, went for a few days last november with uni, on the 20th anniversary of the fall of the wall. A lecturer told us about this place: http://www.drpong.net/, a pin pong club, very clandestine looking we walked past it a couple of times before we realised it wasn't a whitewashed shop front. Orangienburger strasse had some artists squats with some interesting sculpture and art, and a pilgrimage to the bauhaus was pretty good too. No cycling though

Thinking about doing some cycling in Berlin next year. Is there still a clampdown on fixed gear bikes or have they relaxed a bit?
-
• #280
locals are very relax about it, but I have hear of fines...
I have a front brake and try to avoid the police, so far so good -
• #281
Thanks. I try and avoid the police too but at times it seems they actively seek me out. Hope to be in Berlin in May.

it depends
well it always depends :]
however, they try to catch these people who are looking like they will crash into the next car next corner.
so just put a fucking front brake on, let the green deep Vs at home and you 've got nothing to fear.by the way - who's from lfgss actually in Berlin ?
maybe a snowy meet'n'greet these days ?
@prole art threat:
I doubt that you'll have a chance to ride on the track of the Berlin velodrom. Just going there will definitively NOT work.
In general, most velodroms in Germany may be used only by club members, you need a licence (which is merely some piece of paper club members may request from one of the two head organisations in which almost all cycling clubs are joined). However, if you are in a cycling club in the UK, you could try to contact one of the clubs here in Berlin if it's possible to join in during their training hours.
oh astro... ehh *cosmo*nauts outta here ;] ?

Anyone going to Berlin Bike show?
Do you mean Berliner Fahrrad Schau I think I will go down, although I am also supposed to be going to Berghain that weekend so we'll see :S.
Also saw Velo Berlin advertised recently, think that might be more of a trade fair though.
can we have a Berlin sub-forum?
2nd this.
Do you think you might start a Rollapaluza CC out here? ;)
-
• #289
Not sure about the CC, though not a bad idea....Rollapaluza rigs are here already.
-
• #290
+1 for a Berlin sub-forum, I'm moving out there in a couple of months and it'd be fun to know what's going on bike-wise.
-
• #291
I've set this up in the hope that it will become a resource and community for all anglophones of any nationality interested in cycling in Berlin and Germany...be they living in Germany, visiting Germany or just interested....
-
• #292
Couldn't resist starting a Rollapaluza thread on there, seeing as you'd probably be too modest to do so. :)

i am going to berlin again 2moro for the 2nd time, anything exciting i should see?

If you like your food, check out Austria, an Austrian restaurant in a square in Kreuzberg, gigantic, unfussy portions of soul food, I can vouch for the chicken schnitzel and the beef goulash.

Soviet War memorial in Treptower Park.
And of course the clubs (if you like techno). Golden Gate would be my recommendation.

anyone know what the Berlin equivalent of lfgss is, if at all? I'm moving there in september and would like to meet some people!

Try http://www.bikesberlin.com/
Not fixed-specific, but started by winston off here, also just linked to a short way up the page.

I'm looking for some advice on where to stay and where to party in Berlin. I'm heading over in a group of 12 for Mrs 86s birthday in November.
I know there's a lot of Berlin threads already but most seem to deal with cycling (weird..). We've been once before so don't need to see anything touristy, just the sun coming up after a massive bender.

Kreuzberg!
And make sure you visit the Huhnerhaus near Gorli Park, trust me son, that chicken is the boom son!
