    ooh.
yh any chance of a picture?

  • you need to take your height in feet, then devide that by the amount of teeth on your sprocket, then times that number by the number on the bus that almost killed you last night, then work out the square route.
this will give you your ideal HipsterHandlebarWidth.

    mine is 36.4 squared.

    haha!
    so
    5.8/15x177=????
    haha

  • Buy some bars, hold them out infront of you, see what feels like a comfortable width.
Mark the bars roughly, then use a tape measure to precisely measure the cut point equally each side.
Use pipe cutters or a good hack saw and cut the bars nice and straight either side. File down any rough bits. Put em on your bike and ride.

It's all, like most things, common sense really!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!! This thread has brightened up my day.

Shit! I may have used the wrong forum ID. It was me that said that.

  • That is more often than not the problem Fred. It's amazing sometimes.

  • You generally want them around shoulder width, or you can just do as the majority of fixed gear riders in london do and cut them as narrow as you can possibly bear.

  • OR you can do the complete opposite and do what i've done, have them as WIDE! as you can possibly bear, I know its a new concept to some of you hipster types, but you should try it sometime, you might like it ;)

  • Lowering your saddle has the same affect as having riser bars.

  • Is he going up hill backwards?

  • so how was your ride with jack today joss? i hear you want a yellow aerospoke too, is there a certain image your going for or something?

    mooohahaha!

  • I am after some cheap chrome risers. Not too bothered about condition.

Would look flashy with a polish.

  • Anybody know of a riser bar with a really high rise? Something over 60mm or is there a better option? BMX bars?

  • How about these?

25 inches by 40 inches?! OP would need to be Inspector Gadget to be able to reach the brakes

  • a Reynolds 531 Carerra Monza racer bike?

    or just no?

I am not too comfortable riding with drop bars and never have been.

  • It's your bike ride it how you like it.

Anyone gives you grief tell them to worry about their own bike.

  • What is it you don't find comfortable about drops?
