I don't really understand the difference between lyric and pike
From a consumer perspective
Someone just needs to explain it to me

Lyrics are better and you wish that you had them.

How much steerer do you need? Got a Reba Dual Air 100mm, black, with a steerer too short for GF's bikefit.

Rode Cafael at Cwmcarne until I accidentaly turned onto the DH 'Pedalhounds' which was interesting on an XC bike with the seat up.
Ride was basically climb until sick followed by destroy rear tyre through terror speed control.

I was working under the mistaken assumption that the Yari was a cheaper Lyrik and following it as a long travel 160mm-180mm mini-downhill/gnarly all-mountain fork, then I realised that it's available in travel options from 120mm-180mm
It's a cheaper Pike or Lyrik then depending on the travel options, maybe?tl;dr: ignore my ramblings, I'm talking bollocks.

I want a G-160 coz the stuff I want to push myself on demands that kind of bike. For basic XC/trail riding and a bit of off-piste back country all mountain riding with some lite bike park days thrown in it would be the T-130. It's an amazing bike.
If I had the money I would buy both. The T-130 would be my everday bike and the G-160 my Masts/Bike Park/downhill rig. -

Sorry, only just got round to pulling the measure out. 160mm minimum would do it

168mm. Stanchions are good, seals need a clean, haven't used them since they arrived due to short steerer. Will upload more pics later.

I'm thinking of getting a hardtail instead of my dualy as most of my mates ride CX bikes on the trails. I'm all about the more difficult runs but I'm missing out on gravel rides / green runs as it's a struggle to keep up with them.
The Cotic soul 275 look amazing but you don't get many down under. I'm looking at a second hand cheapish bike too sadly.
Any suggestions? -

Carrying on the On-One theme - 45650b?
I've no idea what you do get down in Aus, and if you're looking second hand, just trawl the best online markets, when you see something, plug it into google for some kind of review.
Always keep in mind with this that bikes get reviewed against their peers in that cost category. As such, a bike may be "underspecced" when new compared to its rivals, but if you get a bargain second hand, the spec may well be better value.

Just back from a great MTB weekend; brief ride report:
Marin Trail (Betws y Coed) - fun loop with lots of fast bits. Fair amount of fire road.
Snowdon Rangers Path - technical and exhilarating. The top was very tricky, with big rocks and lots of loose stuff - fairly punishing on a hardtail - then it gets a bit smoother and faster as you get nearer the bottom. We then went over the hill to Telegraph Valley which is smoother but not as exciting. Snowdon was the objective, so delighted to have done it, but I don't know if I'd bother going back as it was a slog to get up there...
Long Mynd, Shropshire - good for an all-day ride, lots of pedalling, but some decent descents - I see why Minton Batch is so popular. Also the scenery is fantastic.
I feel like I need a couple of days to recover now.
I also need suggestions for other recommended MTB locations in the UK. I'm thinking Cwmcarn next...

New Salsa line up announced. One new bike looks interesting, the other has an interesting look...
Shame to see the El Mariachi dropped from the line up :(

So I'm looking to sell this for a reasonable price. It's currently down from 180/180mm to 150/150mm as I was looking for a more all rounder so adjusted accordingly. Equipped with decent shiz. XT/Zee. Marzocchi/Fox 40's/ Reverb/WTB on Stans/Thomson/Renthal.
Rinses bike park Wales and the likes, but more suited to Morzine than Surrey.
If you want the whole sad story, I can bring out the tiny violins.Anyone keen?

Did you climb Snowdon by bike before descending? That's on my to-do list. Any tips?

Yeah, up the Llanberis path. We actually walked over half of the climb. It's steep! Tips...
You need to start early (unless you're brave enough to do it in winter) as there's the bike ban, no bikes on the mountain between 10am and 5pm. We started just before 7.
I think descending Llanberis path would be fun and fast, but not much of a challenge.
Descending Rangers path is tricky in parts, as I said. At the bottom, after you cross the gate you can turn right and push up the next hill to descend Telegraph Valley for more fun times. I can share the route we did if you like.
I'm ok. Bit sore. My mate (not in the video) is having an op on his foot tonight though.
