Has anyone here ridden round Ranmore Common area, is it worth exploring? I normally head out around Peaslake, Thanks

Ranmore's awesome. Go when dry.

60mm stem and 700+mm bars
About that. Dunno. Shorter? Something with a big rise? I want it to handle like I think this would probably handle:

Horrendously? That's a trials bike. Non suspension corrected forks, >=60mm stem and 710mm bars is super fun on 26". Like a big bmx.

Ranmore is very much worth exploring. Lots and lots and lots of stuff there; but is generally best avoided when it has been raining due to the chalky soil. I don't know it as well as I'd like but plan on doing some further exploring soon. Nirvana Cycles in Westcott do freeride practice sessions on Saturday that often take in Ranmore, they also built many of the trails there.
Here's a vid showing a taste of what's there: -

And here is a better shot vid of some of the Ranmore Trails:

There is a new trail called Wire in the blood by some, and if you can find that you won't be sorry.

Anyone fancy a Ranmore ride soon? Sounds good.

I'm heading over to Peaslake on Sunday; Ranmore may happen. Or may not.

• #7511
Thanks for the info, will be geading to Ranmore ASAP.

• #7512
One last thing, looks like ASAP might be tomorrow, so where is the best place to park round there?
Cheers

Anyone here excited by the new 27.5+ Charge Cookers? At 580 quid (Evans) for the rigid SS version I am interested - seems good value for what looks like a fun, simple sort of bike. Amusing promo video too.

I really liked the look of them, but 27.2mm seatpost limits dropper choice, and having recently tried a dropper, I can't see myself going back.

KS Lev, or cheap RSP one?

Got a link to vid?

Ha!
Nailed it..... -

It does look good, it's a shame it's single-speed specific though, I'm looking for something that could be set-up geared in the summer for bike packing. I guess there's always hub gears.

I'm selling a Genesis Core 50 MTB frame for £75 if anyone is interested. Great frame, but a bit small for me so bought something else.

• #7522
They have geared frames too though, only slightly more spendy.

@Sparky how do you go to Ranmore?
Also someone buy this so I don't: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gunnar-Rockhound-frameset-/141783506608?hash=item2102f49eb0

No Ebb though, I want to be able to do dingle-speed for winter and geared for summer. The Stooge is the only frame I've been able to find that'll do both and take true 3" rubber that has either sliders or ebb (no faffing with horizontal drop-outs for the dingle-speed) so far

Don't know. Never been before. With Peaslake I just throw the bike in the car. Interested?
