That’s a pretty mad choice.
Have you looked at the Clandestine Combe? 27.5 wheels, short rear travel, space for frame bag.

That's pretty boss.
Also liking his recent ATB but that's quite a different approach to off roading

Yeah one is definitely the atb for covering rough ground over a long ride (who is it that pioneered that in the UK…name escapes me) and the Combe is for having a good bit of fun on mountain bike trails. I was looking at it before I went with the Starling.

Re the v brake/shit suspension chat,
Remember when we all joined a forum based around bikes which weren't at the cutting edge of technology...

Maybe Geoff Apps? There's definite similarities with the Clandestine and in some ways, I think, hope, my Stooge.

Flickr rabbit hole for anyone that's interested.
Can't tell if the newest version with separate chainstays is an actual bike or just renderings.

I still have two single speed bikes with shit brakes!

Lower the BB the better the feels in the turns, in my experience anyway.
-
• #26687
I guess if your concern is whacking the pedals on stuff you could engineer the suspension to ride under pedalling
-
• #26688
Yeah, l don't feel like I notice the increased stability in turns that people say a low bb gives (or maybe it’s more accurate to say that the bikes I’ve ridden with high bb didn’t feel any worse in the turns) but I definitely notice the pedal strike.
I’ve just bought some 165mm Zee cranks off eBay so I shouldn't have to go too mad with the bb height to have good ground clearance.

Bought this Carbonda frame a year ago! My partner was ordering a gravel frame and the extra postage cost on a 2nd frame was tiny. It's the FM936 which Vitus use on the Rapide FS. Finally got round to building it up last week... Currently with 110mm Fox 32s but have a set of 120mm Pikes from @grm to try soon. First test ride in the Lakes next week.
It was my birthday so my partner whipped up a bag for it too.

Yes, she's been sewing various bags for our bikepacking trips over the last year or so. She's got the skills! (I dont).

Aye, looks very neat, nice job.

That looks really smart actually. What size tyre does it take?
-
• #26695
Think those are 2.25". I reckon up to 29x2.4
