Thanks man. It's been a while since I cooked myself like that. I'm feeling pretty broken now.
My hands quads, neck and bothered me and I had even trouble shifting with my thumb.Like the day before, my partner again came in with exactly enough time left to start another lap. Unlike the day before though the lap needed to be finished by 2pm to be counted, and I had to press the issue. I was thoroughly struggling in the end.
Fox Creek, the race venue, is stunning. Really cool. Vistas of those re-growing hill tops that were fire affected just a few years ago, the ocean in the distance and pretty cool trails make it a great place to ride. Our course was more technical than I expected but I think I managed well enough.
That said, the proper DH tracks there are mental and not suitable for XC bikes. Away from the event crowd there was a whole contingent of people getting uplifts, and there's an awesome skills and jump section at the top of the whole thing. -

9 runs at inners is pretty good going. I think 10 runs is the absolute most I’ve ever managed, usually completely fucked by the 7th or 8th.
I think I can probably guess at the exact spot where you crashed if it was just before coming onto a fire road…

Sounds like it went well and at a pretty cool venue.
Wish there were more of these longer, team, enduro (before enduro became EnduroRadSickFullyYo!) races around.

It was a good mix, really catering for all abilities. There were solo categories as well.
Guy that took the hardest win did 38 laps in 24hrs. It was his 5th win. I know him because he does junior coaching for the local MTB club and my daughter used to go there. He's had two knee replacements and a very recent shoulder reconstruction. No idea how he does it.
On the other end of the scale you had 6hr teams or 12 hr 4 people teams ... Some of them just treated it like a fun day out with a few laps and a beer after

Goal: 40 laps + beer

Just really don’t like the XTR cranks I have.

And am therefore looking for new 165mm Enduro cranks that are not Hope, or if they are Hope have not been assaulted by the Hope laser engraver.
-
• #26369
Silver Hope so the laser engraver work is not visible from any distance.

That's dangerous, you end up (if you're me) looking at the matchy-matchy possibilities

New E-Thirteen looks interesting. Their carbon offerings are also really great quality, I'm super happy with the XCX cranks, mind you, I got them on some crazy sale.
