Almost 600EU. These bastards better ride themselves up the hills.

Just putting a bit more grease in your DT hub will quieten it down quite a bit.
-
• #26057
Yeah, they quiet down a bit with normal use too. I've got their proper lube and the stuff it was supposed to be based on (M something ?), which I reckon is wrong. That stuff is like glue.

normal use
Since when do you subject any equipment to 'normal use'
-
• #26059
My hub is so quiet, I often forget that I own a bike
-

Fair.
I have slowly come to terms with 'durability' and 'lifespan' in my world being slightly different to the norm. I buy cassettes and chains like normal people buy bread and milk.
-
• #26061
You could totally solve that problem by having a child
-
• #26062
I've thought about that recently. All the things I prioritise would immediately be shat on if we got preggers. It does make me wonder why people breed. Apart from accidents, am I just more selfish than everyone else on the planet?

Quite the opposite. Reducing population growth is a good thing for the planet!
-
• #26064
Well, it helps if smart people breed to be honest.
Wait

Have you seen Idiocracy? This is now...

How do you feel about genocide?
-
• #26068
Reducing population growth is very different to reducing population, but nice try.
Those of us in the UK with Polish surnames often have living memory family experience of genocide, it's not something I'd advocate for any reason... -

How do you feel about Genesis bikes?
-
• #26070
Phew!
-
• #26071
My trail bike has WTB i29 rims laced to hope pro2.
These were an affordable upgrade to the previous hope enduro rims, which were too narrow for my liking.
I've always wanted to upgrade the rims to something a bit nicer and the opportunity has arisen to get some Stan's Arch MK4.
Weight saving is just over 120g per hoop.
Does anyone think I'd be able to tell the difference? Everyone goes on about how much better lighter wheels are, but even expensive carbon stuff isn't much lighter at this kind of rim width.
-
• #26072
Is that saving all at the rim? If so you might just be able to discern the difference when pulling out of the carpark/station. After that you won't feel it with 1kg tyres.
Might not be as stiff either
-
• #26073
All at the rim - would be a straight swap as the ERD is basically the same and actually identical to the hope rim that came before - would be the spoke's third wheel.
Hmmm. Part of me is justifying it by supposing I'd then build the old rims onto the GF's bike thereby upgrading two in one - but I know they'd sit in the shed and just not get used - like the hope rims still are.

I can only tell the weight difference of my 27.5 alu wheels Vs my 29er carbon wheels when lifting them together, and that's mostly because the 27.5 had a DH casing on that was 300g heavier.
On the bike, cannot tell the difference.

Alright - I'll pass on the swankier rims. thanks!
Bombproof if you ask Jorgen.
