Had the headtube looked at by a proper mechanic at lunch, burring removed, cups pressed back in properly, and so far it's totally silent again 👍

Great success!
Also, if anyone wants an XL trail bike frame (and maybe fork) hit me up.

Thank fuck 😂 even I was getting frustrated.

Do you feel like you’ll do most of your riding on the big bike now? You won’t have a short travel mtb once the pace is gone?
Edit: realise you’ve got the hardtail

I feel stupid now

Jibb takes a 31.6mm seat post, the Reverb from the Pace is a 30.9, would it be insane to run a shim?
-
• #24511
Better to get a new frame.

Very helpful.

Can you fit a longer dropper in the frame than the Reverb?
There lies your answer
-
• #24514
I can, the Madonna has a 200mm Fox Transfer, but £ - I'd prefer to use what I have on the Pace for now, a) until I've moved on from the purchase price of the frame and fork and b) there's no 200mm Reverb AXS anyway.
-
• #24515
Ah well, if you're waiting for a longer AXS, then I'd just bung a shim in for now
-
• #24516
I ordered the USE one.
Stack, Reach and stem length - the reach on the Jibb and the 295 is basically the same.
Reach on the Jibb is 495, the Pace is 503.
Pace has a 32mm stem, for 535 total reach, which suggests that a 40mm stem would be ideal for the Jibb?

• #24517
Might as well try what you already have first
You could keep the Jibb a touch shorter, for more ch***ability
-
• #24518
That feels like a backwards step
-
• #24519
You have a big bike, keep the trail bike shorter definitely.
Also shims are fine, just remember to apply assembly grease to all interfaces.

This ^
Have some difference between the two bikes, other than the travel
-
• #24521
Maybe fit drop bars to one of them...
-
• #24522
I agree that you don't need to have the reach numbers/fit as an identical match.
I love that you really are getting the Jibb, I thought it was just banter. Have you ordered one yet? -

Amazing.
Raw or black? Air rear shock? -
• #24525
Black, so I can tell the difference, and an air shock, again because I wanted to differentiate, and much as I love the Madonna it's a heavy old thing - which doesn't matter when you're using uplift, or spinning up a fire road to drop into the trail, but I'd like to make the trail bike a bit leaner.
Ohlins TTX2Air and an Ohlins 36 fork.
Of course.
