Yes, pref long rides so let’s see the 50 and then swap for longer if I am not feeling in comfort.
Thanks TS -

look at the sweep. 50mm may be a bit short here.

Thank you Pit.
A friend can borrow me a 60 but I feel 70 would be the best -

Rapha Trail Pants due out soon, they look pretty neat and the price isn't nuts but I'm not sure how rad the smart casual look is for shredding the gnar? Single button closure seems like a mistake too unless there's an internal second button?

Anyone here done any MTB trail leader courses in the UK, if you did how did you find it and have you used it since? Want to add some outdoor instructor qualifications to my CV to fill gaps between contracts and get me out of the office more!

Not entirely confident they'd get over my pads, either.

Not that it’s a competition but I run 35mm! 😛
Ahem... 31mm here 😎

And so, the chode wars began

Wait till they start on bar girth.

My bar diameter is the same as my stem length. Grasp the thickness

Ah I mean you can get pretty good slim pads these days but I don't think I could get over that single button closure... I have Race Face shorts with single button closure and I hate them, they're extremely unforgiving to any weight gain sadly...
Think I might actually just get a pair of Endura MT500 Burner pants following on from copious research...

I accidentally got some mt500 burners and they are great. Much better than other pants I’ve had from fox, royal and giro. Would get another pair for sure

Similar!
It's actually shorter (32mm) than the bar diameter (35mm), I learned when grabbing that picture.

I was just watching a bmx video from 2011 and spotted this -
Allegedly it's in Surrey. I assume was built for some (red bull?) event. Does anyone know what that was, and more importantly, if it still exists?
@chrisbmx116 do you know?
The more I think about it I remember some BMX event but as it's apparently surrey hills perhaps some mtbers know it

From 5.05 here. Could it be an old ski slope?

found it. Ride the Hill in redhill. For mountain boarding oddly
Shut in 2018

Wore the Madison DTE trousers for much of the ATM route and they were pretty good (I've nothing else to compare them with but that did the waterproof thing they were supposed to).
Found the older model cheap on ebay. Couple of things I'd change would be maybe adding a strap around the ankle to cinch them a bit tighter near tha cranks and as with most trousers I need bigger size to get over my thighs but then the waist is too big - but that happens with everything. Tightening the velcro straps though means there's velcro flaps on each side which I'd clip or drag whenever puling tops up or down over them. Bit annoying, not a showstopper.
When the sun comes out (holy shit, in Scotland, really?) they do get hot and it's so nice to tear them off and get some cool air on bare legs.

Ahhh you worked it out! Good detective work, tbh hasn’t seen the spot before.
Plenty of proper trails in Surrey if that’s what you’re after though… -
• #22097
Mountain boarding is turbo lame.
-
• #22098
Someone has to be sneaking into that spot still
-
• #22099
Not much left from the looks of it. 2011 was a long time ago

Criminal.
Still want to try out a 4X track at some point.
Anyone keep up to date with 4X stuff?
Is it still a thing?
Not that it’s a competition but I run 35mm! 😛
@Albb if you’ll be using the bike for longer bike packing trips etc you might find a slightly longer stem feels good.
But for normal xc/trail riding on a frame like that 50mm will be fine. Get a 50 and a 70 and suck it and see.
I’d imagine you’ll use the 50 and just leave it there.
