  • What about Sunday the 16th? I think that I'm going to that cycling/outdoors thing at Excel on the Saturday...

  • Can't do the 16th :(

  • so which day swinley?

  • Nice trailer stolen off the Dirt site:

    http://video.mpora.com/watch/ILfAqXTHO/

  • 15th numbnuts

  • alright, bored of waiting

Mick and I shall be going to swinley tomorrow

anyone else care to come along and practice falling over in the mud?

  • Hey James, how're you getting there? I think I might just ride there as apparently it's 16 miles away and I reckon it's about 13 to Putney and about 16 to Vauxhall/Victoria.

  • train from Richmond station

    simples

  • I'm out. Sore shoulder + lunch with friends + early flight Monday = No muddy play for me.

  • What time are you getting to Swinley for?

  • Probably aiming to be there about 11 or so, not exactly sure.

In other news i've just finished fitting my new levers, bashguard and chain so everything should be running extra smoothly tomorrow, still fucking waiting on the new grips getting delivered though.

  • Mick, want to meet at mine to then cath the train over?

10.06 to arrive Martins Heron for 10.47

One minor caveat, possibly have onset of manflu, got home aching and promptly fell asleep, not feeling too good right now.

  • I would dude but like I said there's only a difference of about 3 miles between cycing to yours and cycling straigh to Swinley so I may as well meet you there. Give me a text in the morning to let me know if you're still up for it, if not we can postpone it to Sunday.

  • By the way folks if any of you are building up a 29er/69er or have decided to HTFU and go fully rigid, i've got my stock Haro Mary forks here that i'd be willing to part with for 30 golden nuggets. Disc only, i'll measure the steerer tube at a later date.

  • Twas quite a fun day, aside from my grip popping off. And of course, when I got home, there were my lovely new lock-on grips waiting for me.

    Bastards.

  • a couple of interesting events sent to me by West Drayton Mountain Bike Club

Black Park XC race incorporating the London Singlespeed Championship.

    http://www.xcracer.com/Beyond-Black-XC-10-and-Singlespeed-champs.html

3 mile course with various options in terms of number of laps.

And this bad boy, the Bucks Off Road Sportive

    http://www.xcracer.com/Bucks-Offroad-Sportive-2011.html

In 2011 the event features an 80, 100 and 132 KM off road distances. The toughness of the 100 and 132 km events should not be underestimated although the hills in the Chilterns are not as high as those in other parts of the country the constant undulating climbs certainly take their toll and the single track can be tough going in places.

Mick, this sounds just like the kind of pain you were looking for.

If we join West Drayton MBC there is also a reduction in the entry fees. I am sure we can still enter with dual club allegiance and can also go as Broke Back Mounting Bike Club too.

  • That sounds like an utterly fucking stupid idea.

    IN!

Edit: Actually, just saw the date, right in the middle of my exams, may or may not be "IN!"

  • good events there James,
on an internet level at least, dont know anyone whos done these, and like to get the gen off riders that can tell you if its worth the money- dont like going to events and then the parking/ pub/ or facilties are shite,
check this one out too in a proper awesome place

  • swinley this weekend?

  • Sunday Swinley as I am doing the hard day in January on Saturday

    And its all about me

  • I've been lusting after a Titus El Guappo for quite some time. Money aside, I know before trying I would'nt be able to find the time to get to the sort of places a full-on all mountain bike would want to go. So its one of those back burner projects.

Anyway, I recieved in my in-box this morning, and thought I'd share. I guess most of you guys are are aware of the background to this sale.

    http://shop.titusti.com/?utm_source=Planet+X+and+On+One&utm_campaign=7c44ff3da4-Titus_Shop_Now_Open1_10_2011&utm_medium=email

If anyone does get an El Guappo. I'd thank you for not posting it here and making me jealous ;)

Ok then, you won't mind me posting this then,

Order probably going in tomorrow, Yippee.

  • what's the warranty/spares like? seeing as they went bust and have been bought out by planet-x?

  • what's the warranty/spares like? seeing as they went bust and have been bought out by planet-x?

The warranty issue on all new sales will be covered by On One, and even the previously sold bikes are going to be looked at on a case by case scenario ( for the original purchaser ). Spares sound like they will be ok with, all bearings/pivots are generic, the only worry would be the rear triangle which did have some failures in the earlier models (white) but I believe that has been sorted.

  • The hard day in January has been postponed, who would be up for an MTB session on Saturday instead?

(also on the wake up to muff list so could not get to swinley early on Sunday)
