Ach, reckon I'll ride road tomorrow.
Let someone else have a bash at the mountains. Ben Macdui next week would be nice though :)

A few people here running Vittoria tyres? I want to move away from the standard DHF/DHRII set up and if possible get something slightly faster rolling/lighter for summer whilst still being able to take abuse. Does a Martello front and Mazza rear make sense? Double Martello? Would a 2.6 Araggo hold up to uplift and bike park days or is it more of a trail tyre?

The descent off Ben Macdui down to Linn of Dee is good.

Went to Dorst with my gf, got this perfect pic as a keepsake 🤣. Nice route, perfect day out. 11/10, would do again.
*No I didn’t crop this pic, my gf is just good with my iPhone

Great day out in the sun yesterday. Did a loop from Ringinglow up over Stanage Edge. After my first adventure in the peaks having ended badly in cramp and cold, decided to do a much shorter route this time. Got back to the car park at lady cannings with plenty still in the tank, decided to have a go on the trails there.
Have never tried riding properly built trails before, kind of always assumed it wasn’t for me. I’m more of a pootle around, stop for a snack, look at some birds type off roader. Or so I thought. Had a blast down both trails (had to stop halfway down one to gawp at a herd of deer), massive fun, totally converted.

Nice. Have you had a play over Blacka Moor way yet?

My first outing - the painful one - went through blacka moor. It was boggy and foggy and I was going uphill instead of down like planned (thanks komoot!). The combination of fog and that endless black / red heather made for a pretty terrifying desolation. All in all, I did not enjoy myself, but if you have any route suggestions for a sunnier day then I’m all ears.

Couple of big days around Exmoor and The Quantocks as part of a long weekend away to Somerset.
Perfect MTB conditions!

Fork felt very good but it was very overdue a service so it's hard to know quite how much was attributable to the Luftkappe. I did run a higher pressure than before and the fork was as supple but dived less. I'll get a bit more of a feel on trails I know better soon.

I've got an 800mm wide, 30mm rise, 35mm clamp Burgtec Carbon handlebar (with Burgtec grips, should you want them) that will be surplus to requirements when my new Renthal bar+grips turn up tomorrow, should anyone be interested?

If you've got a fork you can direct mount to the RRP guard is decent.

I use the mudhugger shorty - sturdier and better coverage than some of the smaller/thinner options.

What's the backsweep, upsweep and price?

Don’t know, don’t know, half what you can find a new one for.

Ah, looks rubbish. Where's all the Great British rain and the white van men? Go back and do it again properly.

They were all on ebikes in Surrey

It's just something else to spend their money on isn't it, especially when they've already got all the Kashima.

Anyone with experience of Kielder? I'm up in Alnwick for the next 10 days so think I'll pop over next week, hire a bike and try not to break anything.

Am I allowed back in?
Glencoe Lochan trails have some of the best views going and Fort Bill gondy is open again.
