Post-COVID19 (pre-third wave) I want to offer Surrey Hills guided rides with the appropriate social distancing. Who's up for some fun pootling around Leith Hill, Holmbury Hill and Pitch Hill/Winterfold in the coming weeks?
Some micro-gnar, mini-adventure, long tall schlep kind of stuff with takeaway pub stops along the way. -

That arrived two weeks into the lockdown.

Mine's taken a bit longer, but some belt loosening the other day confirmed its arrival

Sounds ace, but I'm not fit enough to ride out and back. Don't think they'll let us take bikes on trains any time soon.
-
• #16357
Just saying when we can.
-
• #16358
Would he very keen to take you up on that offer please! Never properly explored the Surrey hills
-
• #16359
I’d like to come if that doesn’t bother anyone :)
-
• #16360
That gives me time to get less fat and a bit more fit. Excellent.

For local riding in Croydon area can recommend Addington Hills. It's not Epping, but there's plenty of riding there for an hour or so. It fills up with joggers and dog walkers from about 8am, best time to ride is super early morning.

You're more than welcome. I'll post something when lockdown guidelines change.
-
• #16363
For sure, come along. I'll post up when social rides are allowed.

What are the trails like? Any links to video?

It's dry tight now. Mixed surface of pebells and lose soil. Most of it is super easy, but there are few steep stair descents if you're into that kind of stuff.

Thanks. May take a look sometime.

Stupidly bought brakes from singlespeed mtb from Euro land and forgot the levers would be reversed.
Anyone got advice on swapping the lines between calipers or levers without losing any fluid / needing to bleed again?
-
• #16368
Often they can be swapped with no issues, and fluid loss means a bleed I'd assume
-
• #16369
I've swapped / trimmed them at the leaver end. Fluid is more likely to escape from the leaver compared to the hose so try to keep that pointing above the horizontal. Might need new olives, might not. Do you feel lucky?
-
• #16370
I've done it on hope and shimano breaks with no bleed. Do it at the lever end and as Howard says keep it horizontally.

A wild Nukeproof appears! Can’t wait for this virus to be over so I can put myself in hospital.

Ooh... is that a raw aluminium finish?
-
• #16373
Yeah, looks ace in the flesh. Will take some proper pics when it stops raining!

Rad. What brake rotors are those?

Anyone ever turned a 27.2.dropper post down to 26.8? Needing a dropper for the rigid bike but it's old!
A generous waist?
