I don't really want to spend hours on tarmac riding to some countryside, but I'm assuming that I've got a minimum of 60 minutes of roads before I hit anything from SE23 - unless anyone knows better?

@Ecobeard has a few SE London off road routes, but there's nothing too gnar, you can ride them on a cx bike.

Spring Park. There's some trails there that make me search out the wimp line on my cross bike.

The Olympic Park mtb tracks are now a free-for-all of random mothers with young children and full-face downhillers. Far better than being empty all day.

For me I'd say yes, as I have out of the ordinary sizing requirements. For regular sized folk, dunno. Some people just like to have something one-off
