Nuts!

Those stairs are fairly (in)famous in skateboarding (probably bmx too).
-
• #14904
Yeah, I recognised those steps (and the security guard) :) straight away. I've watched the long form of that Thrasher video with all the failed attempts too. Not that the DH bike version was a walk in the park, but the skater shows a masterclass in perseverance and guts.

The skater is clearly not bothered about being able to walk in his forties.
-
• #14906
Ha, yeah. I guess not many "extreme sport athletes" give much thought beyond the here and now of what they're doing or there wouldn't be much radness in the world. In fairness when I was 20 I never thought about how what I was doing might affect my mobility at 40 either. Not that I was attempting 25ft stair drops to flat. Mainly because I was shit at skating.

A mate of mine now has the destroyed knees and shoulders from skateboarding and surfing, respectively.
Is now looking for an e-bike because of the knees. -

Advice needed! I’m looking for a hardtail that’s both suitable for shredding the gnar on singletrack/trails in The Netherlands, an ocasional outing to the Ardennes/Eifel, and bikepacking the Tuscany Trail in June. I would prefer a steel frame because I love the look of slim steel tubes. Budget is around €2000.
Ritchey Ultra and Stanton Sherpa are on my list, what else should I consider? Fully and building my gravel bike are the obvious answer but budget won’t stretch to that for the next year... -

I have a Stanton Sherpa. Its the best geo and ride of all the many 29er steel hardtails I have ridden. Only has one set of bottle cage mounts, but you can fit more using dmr clamps or ask Stanton to fit more cage mounts. I also have a Sonder Broken Road running 29er wheels which is excellent as well.

Sherpa owner. Fantastic bike!

A third high recommendation from me for the sherpa.

Would quite like to find one of these cheap for my dad
Evans do have frame only for £120 but wheels and fork will add a lot more

Rad! Good work
Now I need someone in Woking because I’m never going to get there this side of new year -
• #14915
Cool, sadly cant help with that this side of NY.
-
• #14916
Hmm. Why would an Evan's own brand bike come with documents from Halfords?
-
• #14917
Gonna leave the Dad bike for now. Nephew is a priority, his old bike is toast. Rear wheel is knackered, mech hanger bent, pedals knackered too. Would rather him not spend any money on it when he could do with a bigger bike anyway.
I can get one of these frames for about 280 quidWhat do we think would be a realistic cost for putting together the rest? Budget is tight but I want something that will last and not hold him back. No heavy steel fork uppers, decent serviceable wheels etc
Will all need to be second hand parts
Dropper post already acquired from Dammit, I’ve got some finishing kit. -
• #14918
Why so much money on the frame?
-
• #14919
It’s his dream bike at the moment. Full build is prohibitively expensive but frame with discount isn’t bad I thought.

anyone on here tried a Trek Full Stache? I have an insatiable curiosity about it.

Yoann Barelli first ride back after six months out with an ACL injury, does a black and double black diamond trail on a fucking hybrid.
A fucking hybrid.
The utter fucking lunatic. Have a look at the expression on Remy Metailler's face when Barelli passes him at the trailhead.

At least he was clipped in :-D
