On One Big Dog is available for pre-order. Very tempted...

Their 'non-sales' patter is creeping me out a bit
-
• #14656
Yeah, choosing to ignore that. But modern steel hardtail frame for £233 is good
-
• #14657
I'd buy one of they had a rigid fork to suit and it wasn't boost

Totally.

I think that's what I thought the Big Dog was... confusing range with all these silly names.

Anyone used Maxxis' Aggressor tyres?
All this rain is starting to test my handling skills with Aspens on - though they do clear the mud delightfully well!
PX are churning Aggressors out for £21 a pop in the 2.3 TLR Exo flavour so thinking worth a punt?

Maxxis' Aggressor
It's not a mud tyre if that's what you are asking
-
• #14663
Speaking of tyres, I've got a couple of E*Thirteen TRS Plus tyres available, 27.5" x 2.35" - anybody interested? They came off a new bike, have done one ride only.

Nobby Nics then?
I had some light skin ones previous but only used them in the dry before switching them out due to being a little flimsy. Snakeskin will obviously improve this.
4 mile slog on the road to the trails negate it must roll...

Fuckers have put the Big Dog price up to £275 now. Less tempted.
Say I was to get one, what size do I want? Match effective top tube (mine is the Medium/18" Boardman), or go up to the large 630mm and drop down to a 35mm stem? Do I have to load them into BikeCAD? How much off the effective top tube does the steep seat angle/slack head angle combo take? I can't understand modern MTB geometry, halp
my bike (Medium) (check that 68.5 head angle):

I think this is it? Christ it's like they don't want me to buy it
no it isn't, wrong dropouts

Guessing it'll be £175 based on that.

Axle now included no?
Still.. sounds like they have bumped it slightly even including the axle. -
• #14668
Yeah, but have a look at that comment I posted off STW. Brant (one of the On One guys) says they'll be launching the discount today.

Jordie Lunn passed away following a trail riding crash in Mexico :(

Sad, sad news.

• #14671
Really sad news. I loved watching him in so many videos and he seemed like such a rad dude with so much life and energy.
He's one of the only riders who I ever felt scared watching, his intensity on the bike was just on another level.

That’s awful news. In honesty I’m surprised it doesn’t happen more often given the risks. Akriggs cliff fall
was one of the worst things I’d seen at the time even though I knew he’d not died.Speaking of which... more bike control way beyond my wildest dreams.

Cross post from non-eBay deals thread in case you don't frequent;
£21 Sram Level Brakes
https://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/BCSRLEV/sram-level-hydraulic-disc-brake
I've just returned the XTs I bought for my bargain bin Scandal build.
Incredible they can sell full brakes for the price of a set of genuine pads!PlanetXs ecom is terrible - these aren't even listed under brakes...

Anyone got any deals on waterproof shorts? Tried madison but they were enormous in the right size- I don’t wear pads so I guess that explains it.
Waterproof socks, neoprene gloves, old ripped goretex and everything else was cozy this morning! Just the wet bum to solve
Is that £28 for both? If they're 27.5", 32h I'll take them.
