Great value for money. Had one and will buy again in the future.

Kinda echoes the retailer reviews @pit :) which is good to hear.
Not really looked into them for years, all had suspect reliability and only in 30+ seat post sizes.
Was taken back to see some for £650 with bluetooth ? :) and at the time crank bros and Thomson came out the pricing was a bit steep we thought. -

Very tempted to try one of the cheapo chinese ones, due to budget constraints, but get the feeling it’s a false economy. Brand X have been recommended on here quite a lot.

There’s a cheap one that comes up on eBay searches - Tmars I think is the brand. When I first bought the inbred it had one and it was pretty shit FYI.
I’ve been looking at cheap options for one and I’ve come to the conclusion that brand x or 2nd hand is the way. -

For sure. Seems to be that unless you are incredibly lucky with Tmars, it’s wasted money. Even then those positive user opinions are based on constant servicing of the thing.

Also have one, would buy again

Just been looking at specialized and they are speccing TranzX posts, i gotta feeling that's the same factory as Brand X ?
Might get round to building the KM up as technical trail slayer, dropper post would be useful :)
Moving house soon, should be within 2 hours of most of the Welsh Bike parks and Trail centers.

Anyone here used a "Brand X" dropper seatpost ?
I've got their 27.2 100mm one on my F-Si and it hasn't died yet despite how stupendously rad I've been getting lately*
I suspect a lot of the cheap hydraulic / air posts come from the same factory and designer - it looks very similar to the KS cheapies.
* actual radness levels may vary

They also redesigned the lever for the external routed droppers recently so it's easier to set it up if you run 2/3x group sets.
-

Hmmm
That's sealed the fate on one hardtail frame then......soon to be for sale....
For extra rad moments i have an old SX Trail to recomission into a shuttle monster. The KM for Trail and Steamroller for hack, could sell the 853 and keep the fork as a spare for shuttle monster.

You never heard of a front mech?

Stop it with your old folk tales
-
• #14291
Still got some might go 2x9 :)
look better than those 50t rear sprockets :)
-
• #14292
Or just walk up the steeeeep bits
-
• #14293
Or go 2x with a 24/38 and 10-50 cassette. Ride up walls.
-
• #14294
So you're not meant to ride into walls?
-
• #14295
Is that why your head tube is so steep?
-
• #14296
No, that's to make up for my incredibly slow reactions
-
• #14297
got a 22t front ring should be easy to wheelie, bike stormz street cred for a few seconds until i fall off the back.
-
• #14298
Is this what you’re considering?
I’ve got the same helmet in a slightly less Dutch colour way.
I find it very comfortable and extremely well vented. The clasp on the chinstrap is a nice touch too. -
• #14299
It's arriving next week, in the colour pictured. My reasoning was a) it'd be easy to see which one was mine and b) I like orange.

b) I like orange
👍
Revising bike stuffs.
Anyone here used a "Brand X" dropper seatpost ? they do an external cable and in 27.2mm diameter. Seem reliable and score better than the more costly ones.
Thinking of bucking forum general thinking and actually getting rid of some Beiks and condensing what i have against having stuffs in boxes not being used.
