No going home until he's beaten Jon Dennis's KOM

Sounds bleak, hopefully it won't be too zombified by the weekend.

I've got my fair share of Epping KOMs/ I don't feel like I need them all/can't really be bothered with Strava/ my top 10 on Mammoth Road was enough of an achievement for anyone.
Enough excuses?

Thanks very kind offer, but I’m Manchester based and I guess you’re London?
I had thought going 2x up front and have the rings that came on my chain set, but they say something in the back about specific chains only so not convinced they will work with older 9 speed? -

I've had the needle option for a blob of solder. It wasn't great fun.
-
• #14235
To be honest the solder sounds worse,
It didn't go in hot did it?A friend that makes knives got some swarf in his eye which is where the suction apparatus story came from, maybe it's a Bristol thing ha

It did go in hot! Left a brown spot in my otherwise blue eye that lasted for years! I also had to undergo an hour of "eye washing" to counteract the chemical burn from the flux.
I actually didn't realise what had happened until about six hours later as it went in so hot I didn't feel it.

maybe it's a Bristol thing
I got punched in the face by a guy wearing a ring that left a scar on the surface of my eye. Years later I've still got a little speck in my vision in that eye. I remember it took me about 6 months to stop trying to absent-mindedly swat a fly that wasn't there. Maybe Bristol's just a bit eye-hostile?
-
• #14238
Yeah I've got a phantom fly at the moment, more of a small bird size though.

Does any one have some 170mm cranks in boost flavour hanging around that can save my bacon for Saturday? The Race Face set I have are AEfecked.
-
• #14240
Got some hopes
Boost is dictated by the chain ring offset rite? You’d need a boost chainring
-
• #14241
It's just 3mm. I run boost ring on a 135 frame for months and it was fine.
-
• #14242
If you can run a non-boost chainring on a boost frame it actually works better imo.
-
• #14243
DM'd you
Also it's usually the case with boost but with Shimano it's the spider that governs the chain line.

The ifs here are as numerous as the chainstay gouges inflicted on boost frames by non-boost chainrings.

Proceed at one's peril

I managed to find a longer than average allen key at work and smashed it all the way home and it's held up so I'm thinking some thread lock and a breaker bar might just do it.
