  • Is anyone going to s Wales soon in a car or van? I bought a beast of a new frame and am looking for an opportune moment to go pick it up. It’s a kona process, its yellow, Arup is currently building its wheels.

  • damn, groovy bike
come bikepacking with us next time!

  • Damn, that is a good looking bike.

  • Looking for 3" rise bars with at least 15 degree back sweep that don't weight more than a loaded skip. Something like Hunter Smooth Move. Any one seen anything like it?

  • Epping early tomorrow am? @Dogs maybe?

  • maybe, what time? how's the forecast?

  • Forecast is fine was thinking 9ish

  • Ace - meet at obelisk about 9am?

  • Sounds good

  • I'm 50/50 - assume i'm not coming but will text you in the morning if plans change

  • OK!

  • Sorry, I'm out sunning myself/dodging the marble sized hailstones/doing 30km climbs in Boulder.

  • I’m running 10 mins late

  • Big ride, that. I am done. Thank you @yakut

  • Thanks for suggesting it here, and for navigating today.

  • Anyone got an experience with a Marin pine 1 ? Seeing the rigid version come up cheap and fancy it.

  • some of them had problems with the forks - i think there was a recall
and the spacing at the front or rear (can't remember) was a bit weird
    otherwise cool bike

  • Were they the ones with that weird QR boost standard?

  • All 2016 and 2017 were recalled due to forks snapping at the crown. They also had a weird axle standard.

  • This is one of them. It could rocket up in price but collection only which is why I think it may go for cheap.

Edit: This looks too small for me anyway.

  • That's a 2016, which has a normal (for the time) 135/100 quick release wheels.

  • Those are the death forks. The reissued forks have three black bands round the bottom to distinguish.

  • I'm about 90kg in mtb riding gear but want a lightweight (say sub 1600g) wheelset that doesnt flex too much.
Right now I have Mavic Crossmax sl pro wheelset thats around 1500g but often feel the rear wheel flex a fair bit and they go out of true often.
Am I simply too heavy to expect wheels in this sort of weight range not to flex or feel like cheese? Bike is a santa cruz 5010 and the riding I do on it is mostly trail centre stuff up here in Scotland. 7 stanes etc

Carbon wheelset around the same weight likely to feel more solid? Try loose weight instead? I'm not exactly a fat bastard - 6ft2 and could lose 5kg at a push!
