He hasn't got the money
This, every time. I could have a switchback and no forks :) Stanton are just down the road from me as well...

Surly has a full 100mm (!) of bounce up front so it's already relatively slack (it was designed around 80).

Pace looks spot on, as long as the reach is ok for you, once you fit a short(ish) stem.

Ritchey is nice also, but the Pace is longer reach and has adjustable chainstays/tensioners, which is pretty rad. Reynolds 853 and Yorkshire born is nice too. And personally I really dislike orange as a bike colour

Went to add the Pace to cart, y'know to checking shipping costs. It's out of stock.

:(
Are you sure you're not a Large..?

Could you stretch the budget a teeny bit?

Was actually looking for the PP Oka, but it's disappeared :-/

tbh the Ritchey is still a stonking bargain

Positive :(

Is it worth stretching for?

Sale ended today, too apparently. Shame - they looked quite sick.

They're still available in large at the reduced price.

Have you figured that one out yet ;-)

The PP's are great bikes, for sure. And quite different from the rest of the crop. Dunno whether what they say about the stay shaping actually makes any difference, but traction does seem good.
Only thing that would put me off the Ritchey is the short reach, so if that doesn't suit you, then there are definitely worse frames to go for than the Shan.

Really enjoying my Genesis Tarn 27.5+ with rigid fork. Bit of a beast in comparison to the lightweight XC Boardman rigid I had before. Plus sized tyres provide much more comfort and the grip is amazing after 26" x 2.2". Feels a bit of a tank at times and is a bit weighty so you end up steamrollering over obstacles rather than riding around with finesse! Rode it on a lot of rocky terrain up in the NW of Scotland the last couple of months and would consider suspension forks if I rode it more often.

This e-thirteen kit that converts existing SRAM 11 speed shiz in to 12 speed shiz looks excellent. Spendy, but all XD driver stuff seems to be, and this comes up lighter than Eagle.

There's a Production Privee Shan on eBay in the Gulf colourway. My size. Should I?

I've got a Shan, I love it. Very capable hardtail.

Mine's not the fancy colour scheme though...

Decisions decisions. I'm just waiting on a reply from Pace, they were going to double check the stock for me. No doubt the Shan will be gone by then though...

Lovely pics and bike looks great. Good to hear you're happy with your rigid 27.5+, building one up myself atm.
