I'm free next Saturday if anyone wants to come down to Petersfield (1hr train) for a ride. Can do anything from 'gravel' riding, trail centre or some stupidly steep natural stuff.

let's do it! in the calendar.
wouldn't mind hitting up some chill trails? e.g. red route level

Has anyone here been to Swinley forest trail centre before?
My friend has convinced me to go with him this weekend, I am renting an MTB but I've never ridden one before. In theory the concept sounds like a dream but I am slightly concerned about the practice;
Am I going to be seriously hurt?
Should I go clipless or wear flats?
Any expert advise?please help

Plenty have. It's good. Clipless if you're used to them and confident unclipping. Do a lap of the blue first and then have a go at the red. You probably won't die at Swinley.

Anyone used mudhugger / fathugger guards? I commute on my 650b+ as well as a bit off offroad and want something to keep the mud off front + rear better than my current clip on SKS ting.
-
• #11543
Yeah my cotic came with a mudhugger, I really rate it.
-
• #11544
Yeah they are good had them on my Stanton for ages and survived everything including Morzine.
-
• #11545
I've heard great things about them alright... I don't personally use one though.

I'm planning a mini offroad bikepacking adventure in a couple of weeks - possibly Malvern Hills, Great Malvern area - anyone ridden there?

What do I need to get the cable routing for my dropper to work?
Frame has stops for exposed cable → BB guide expects exposed cable → internal cable hole in frame → dropper post that wants to take a housing.
Therefore I need either a frame stop with housing inside the frame but not outside or a BB guide that accepts housing that I run into the frame? Or do I bodge a full length housing somehow?
Frame stops on DT:
BB guide - cable exit looks like the one for RD:
Hole for cable (just below the chain, sorry for darkness/blurriness):
Dropper post:
Edit: oh wait, do I just cable tie full length housing next to the brake hose?
