I never learned how to play the violin Fiona.

My 2c: wet ground = less grip on your tire with the surface = less braking = more crashes = more injuries. No thanks. I'm happy to be labelled soft but then actually able to play when its dry. Wet polo is a bad idea.

but there is an underlining amound of HTFU,
riding bikes = an element of crashes, bikes with alcohol and mallets enclosed within four walls = more crashes.

I've played on some courts more slippery when dry than newington gets when wet.

The water slows the ball and most players down, In my experience of wet play it's felt safer than dry. Although I was fixed last time I played in the wet.
