I have a brand new back wheel... So I'm playing... Couldn't get my old 12t off the old one (rusted on) so I'm getting the train home!
can anyone tell me how long 40 gi would take to go 15 miles if I was spinning at 90 rpm (fair avrage including stopping for lights ect)?!I imagine it's about 2 hours and the loss of my knees...
-
• #5705
i'd say about 90mins

thats a guestimate, nothing mathamatical in it

Tyre size and crank length please?
I'd also like sprocket and rear cog sizes. -
• #5708
Actually that's fairly plausable as 60 gi takes a little over an hour a third slower could be just an hour and a half... The time isn't a problem, but my knees were aching after cycling from blb to tower hill!
Got a new 12t in the post anyway...
So anyway, should be plenty of people tonight...

Oh actually I've change to 32 as of last night, on 700 obviously, crank is 165.
26t chainring and 17t cog.
Don't know what my average cadence is, but with a 12t cog i've made 15 miles in 53 mins... That's my fastest recorded time on polo bike (I don't often record my time)

15 miles is 950,400"
Using the criteria above you have a gain of 129.7"950,400 / 129.7 = 7327.67925983037779491133384734 / 90(rpm) = 81.418658442559753276792598303778
If it takes you longer than 81.42 minutes then you are slacking.

Lights are on!
You dont know how happy that makes me. I'm gonna take a walk up there in a few mins to see with my own eyes. Need to call all those poor bastards at Southwark I've been harassing so much for the last six weeks to get them fixed.

still shining bright when I left - feckin good work Kevin lad!

That was very satisfying to see them fixed up. It was a sunny day today but it is getting darker earlier already. What time did you lot finish playing / the lights go off at?
One of the bulbs is gone in the corner of the court that we usually play in. Its not too bad but it would be good to have it sorted for the Open. LHBPA might take the reins on this one? I think I am going to rest on my laurels for a while.

Lights were still on when we left at close to midnight!
Holy fuck!
Thanks for the info. I wonder what time they went off at... if at all??
Maybe we should organise an all-night tournament some time soon :-)
(I'm sure the local residents would love that) -

You were there til nearly midnight? I'm surprised there were many bikes left after your rampage Louis. ;)
Deans bike nearly fell apart on the way home. :-S
Despite losing some shin skin and a front brake, I really enjoyed last night, awesomeness. -

we played abit of malletless polo, but i dont think we actually played after you left

It sounded like nobody's ever said thank you to the woman in Southwark Council before...!
I was meant to call her back on Tuesday but I didnt know then if the lights had been fixed or not, so she just assumed that everything was OK cos she didnt hear from me. I think she was quite surprised to hear someone appreciate her efforts. -
