Thanks Dr. Some of them are looking soggy from the lunch down poor. I don't think they'll last another wash out.
This would be most upsetting.Strange. Do you have paper stickers on your bike?
-
• #5654
Some are papery vinyl. I reckon they're good for about 3 or downpoors, which is disappointing.
Needless to say the LHBP ones are solid!
-
• #5655
You could get some clear packing tape and tape over them.

Thanks for the offer... I'll call them in an hour or so and talk to the officer I've been dealing with, and let you know how it goes, but if there's no progress, I'll email you via the LHBPA list.

Could you mention Quorn Road whilst you're there Kev? :)

I'll deal with this first and hopefully get it sorted, then ask them about Quorn Road.
I'd say that repaving / tarmacing a court is a much bigger deal than getting the Newington lights turned back on.
-
• #5670
I just want the lights on at Quorn Rd at this stage. I'm planning to take this back to Peckham in the inclement weather, so not too fussed about repaving tbh. It's fine for noobs. It's getting darker though so lights would be aces.

1 thing at a time J. if your going back to peckham then why get the council to sort lights for a court your not going to use in 6 weeks>?
-
• #5672
Because we can have 6 weeks of playing in the light, and keep it as an option for when it's not cold / wet.
And then next year.
I also think it could be a good thing to touch base with them and let them know we're playing here, which could open up the options of asking about re-concreting it. Can only be a good thing? -
• #5673
maybe you should contact them yourself then? Let Kevin sort newt and try not to dilute that eh? It's obviously hard enough to get them to sort one court, heaping other issues on without the lights a newt getting sorted seems silly. Once they are sorted you can use that as a great example and reason to fix camberwell also.

You make it sound like southwark council is one person who will only deal with one thing at a time and until they are done with harper road they won't be able to fix anything else!
It could be the opposite, if they are ordering expensive parts from an unusual supplier they might wait to have a bigger order before actioning.
Just my thoughts/opinion.
-
• #5675
no louis your totally right, i mean the lights only stopped working five minutes ago and the council are really quick to action.
why do people always write 'just my opinion' - whose else has your username? My point is kev is dealing with one thing at a time, why heap more 'to do' on his list? Especially if like joanie says they're only going to move to peckham soon anyway.
E.G. we bugged the council to fix brick lane and then never played there again, i'm sure the council loved us for that.but you know feel free to disagree, it's just my view / opinion.
