  • Anyone fancy throw-ins at Newington tonight, before and after the Malice/Polononinium 210 showdown at 7pm?

  • Yo SOUTHIES - we played a league game at Newington last night and a group of hooded guys with various metal/wooden posts came ove to the court and tried to steal our bikes. There's some discussion about it and suggestions about what to do over in the league thread.

    Keep safe.

  • have a good one tonight ls & gs. i had my wet games on monday (though thankfully it has stopped coming down). out of town now til next week.

  • Camparipark?

  • newington!

  • rain has stopped in the city!

  • It's pissing down at newington, no-one here at the moment...

  • Down laters, 8.

  • be there in a bit

  • don't bother going.

  • so the situation with newington is as follows.

The light box has a padlock on and the timing for the lights is screwed. However you can gain access via the side hatch and reach into the box to flick the main switch. It's a bit of a squeeze but is do-able.

A really nice lady who works for the council came around yesturday to chat about the incident with the kids. She has connections with the council and can get them to sort the timing out on the lights if we want. We said leave it for the time being as we can still do the lights manually but if another lock appears then we have a lead to follow.

Regarding the trouble with the kids. She said to first call the police (they have a local patrol so should be really quick to respond) then to contact her if anything happens again. Try and get a description of some kind of the group. She patrols the area (with a few other people and police back-up if needed) talking to any groups of kids they meet so is likely to have contact with them before.
