One thing: Are those nets weighted down?

They're the most expensive part of the court iirc!

If people are up for it we should take the opportunity to move the short ends off the tarmac and jetwash it, stopping the mould and moss growth.

How much was salvageable?

The netting is folded up on the grass temporarily. Will need moving eventually, won't benefit from the damp long term.

Not much salvageable in terms of boards, but most of the uprights look fine. In terms of jet washing it's gonna be hard getting that done when the track's live, what with getting the hose across and all that.

nice work guys! I saw on of the track people cleaning the inner track with a portable jet wash. Was yellow? Can we no borrow? Can help not next wkend but will be around from the 21st may and the wkend if things to do.

The net does not need any weighing down. Stretched out flat and then folded over, in four-metre long folds, it isn't going anywhere, it's really fucking heavy.

From what Peter said it sounded like the jet wash they have has a hose. We can ask him about any portable ones though, he seems open to help.

Has anyone been in contact with any companies about sponsorship? Chunk etc?

What is the deal with putting companies logos on the court?

I can email out to some contacts and see if I could raise some funds if the LPC would be happy about that?

How many boards would be needed for a total court rebuild? Can someone let me know the heights and lengths of the current boards.

Hey all,

Just been to scout out a court which I ride past everyday and thought it could have potential to be a decent spot to play for the people that are around the Brixton part of South London. I've taken pictures and all that lark but here's a little list of pros and cons that I can see then everyone can decide whether it is worth trying it out...

Pros:

Surface is much better than Newington
It's bigger than Newington
There's a stage type bit at the side where people can do activities
It's right near my house so we could have post polo parties and BBQs quite easily
There's hardly ever anyone in it
Near Tulse Hill station

Cons:

The yellow goals are a bit awkward
It needs a bit of a clean up (beer cans etc.)
There's a small open gated bit (we could easily get a bit of wood to put up there)
It's a bit out of the way
