Not that that should make any difference to anyone, I'm just sayin'...

How would people feel about a compromise where we kept one day as sacred (i.e. league games are banned) and the other two as "try to avoids"?.

I agree with Phil & Agata on this. It also seems the best way to maximise numbers for throw ins in bad weather.

can i ask you whether you would have begun to play if on all those tuesdays you would be waiting around in the cold watching people play rather than being encouraged to get on court?
No we shouldnt vote on it. The league has managed for 6 years without impeding on throwins very much at all. if you want to play league at newt you have thursday friday saturday and sunday in which to do it.
I can't believe this is still in debate. Leave throwin night alone. How many more times?!

Brendan, I have not yet expressed my opinion on playing league games on beginners Tuesdays. My current schedule allows me to play league games on those days but when scheduling our games I found that the days that worked for most were Mondays & Wednesdays and the only day that everyone was free for the games were Mondays. I have no idea what has happened over the past six years but I am agreeing with other people here so it seems that I am not the only one with this opinion. An alternative would be to have people playing league games try to keep one fixed evening, ie Thursdays, free for league games so that it is easier to arrange fixtures. Either of these would work for me.

With the greatest respect, I don't care what your fucking schedule is...

Throw-in nights are for throw-ins, schedule your games for another night... End of story...

So, this is what you guys suggest?

Mondays - North, westway
Tuesdays - westway
Wednesdays - North, westway
Thursdays - New, westway
Friday - New, westway
Saturday - New, westway
Sunday - New, westway

Perhaps this will help everyone to select when and were to play.

Well its good to know that the people that dictate what happens at souths are Brendan and Joe with their very selective memories. Anyone else can get to fuck. Good old lpc....

Last year and years before loads of people played league games on Mondays because it wasn't an established night at Newington.

There is nothing wrong with asking to play on the second court when it becomes available. That means that all the people that come for throwins will be able to play throwins. They have no obligation to ref, its up to the league teams to organise refs.

I people can't be arsed to show up to throwins though and there aren't enough people to play then that's no fault of the league.

Jackie south london polo is on monday and wednesdays. The London Bike polo league is on any OTHER time you wish to play. I've played 5 years of league games and can remember playing them on throwin nights a handful of times. You have more nights to play league than their are throw in nights in the week. I dont care about your schedule, your voting or where you play. Even if i was playing in the league i would not want throwin night to be taken up by league. What is so difficult to understand here? You say you have not expressed an opinion and then go on to say 'i'm not the only one with this opinion' are you trolling or just contradicting yourself through ignorance?

There isn't really an 'alternative' i don't give a flying about what you do or when as long as you leave mon/weds for throwins.

Ben you're up and down like a toilet seat. One minute kissing asses and saying please "i know its a throw in night, please can we play" the next throwin toys because the tradition of throwins is being protected. FYI i wrote and then omitted about the history of mondays because i cant be fucked to give a new player a history lesson on where people might have acted stupidly, myself included.

Brendan - You have made your point very clear. I did not misunderstand and I don't believe that I am contradicting myself. As you mentioned Tuesdays I clarified that I was not expressing my opinion regarding beginners Tuesdays. I was referring to playing league games at Newington on the days that affect you. I am most disappointed that you are not interested in my schedule but I am sure that I will cope.

It is frustrating to read the same things again and again and then be called out with joe as the only dissenters when clearly many people have expressed the same thoughts. I cant speak for beginners nights, i've never been so have no opinion on numbers or how frustrated they get at watching a league game.
